"It was our first visit to the restaurant and it is a casual fun location in Paia. Very casual and good food. Service was a little slow, but personnel were sweet and nice. "The world food tour continued …. At Panya Bistro in the Hokua condo. We stopped in for an early dinner after seeing Beautiful at the Concert Hall (a bravura performance by the cast). We arrived early (4pm) so the restaurant was pretty empty but were told by the hostess about their 90-minute time limit policy. Okay, better to tell us up front than during our meal. Service was leisurely so that might have been somewhat of a concern but it worked out satisfactorily. We started with a couple of Hendricks gin and tonics with limes instead of the more proper slice of cucumber. A very refreshing beginning …though I wish bartenders would note what garnish goes with certain gins. We ordered three dishes: Pork Chops over fried rice, Pad Thai with chicken and Stir Fried Vegetables with Beef. First off, the pork chop dish is huge! Slices of breaded boneless chops are placed over a subtle fried rice (Chinese style … on the drier side) and covered with a very sweet tomato sauce. The texture and taste reminded me of waffles with maple syrup. It was very good but the sweetness of the tomato sauce was off-putting to me; not bad, but unexpected. The Pad Thai was fine; nothing to complain about. The highlight dish for me was the stir fried vegetables with beef. The vegetables (broccoli, green beans, slices of carrot and mushroom) were crisp and the cubes of beef were very tender. The sauce was thin but savory; it let the beautiful vegetables take center stage. I could have just eaten this dish with a bowl of rice. No room for dessert but I finished my meal with a Thai iced coffee. The coffee was excellent and shone through the generous serving of milk. So cool and refreshing; I could have consumed two glasses. Final thoughts … we hadn’t been to Panya Bistro in a long time; the food was very good and the service was fine (we left after 93 minutes). Parking in the Hokua is convenient and free with validation. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable."

"Being Chicano I am vouching for this place for the best menudo I've come across at a restaurant. The meat was cooked to perfection! The broth had just the right flavor. For some reason I had to ask for cilantro and oregano but they brought it to mepromptly. The corn tortillas were certainly made fresh. Topped a big bowl off with a barbacoa taco. It's always a good sign whenthere is a line of people waiting to get in and most of them are elderly! I will come to this Cafe every time I am in town now.Loved the small hole in the wall experience. Don't miss this one if you're close bye"

"The food here is super good! Make sure you remember that throughout this entire review Next let’s talk about customer service the staff was very kind. They were super helpful. Our waitress continually made sure our coffee was full and asked if we needed anything else. Seating, you need to sit outside on the patio. It has a great view. You won’t regret it in my opinion. The cinnamon roll was overrated. I ordered the corn beef hash and it was really good. The portion sizes are massive and I would say that the cost is reasonable. I hate going to a breakfast place where you pay a ton of money for a super small portion but this portion was just perfect that actually came with three eggs. I also ordered the banana bread on the side but I’m too full right now to tell you how it is so I’ll have to come back for that one."

"Visited 25 Burgers Pizza for the first time today. Service was efficient and courteous, location in New Brunswick next to the Rutgers facilities is also ideal for a Halal burger joint. They have a huge burger menu, the biggest I have seen in Halal burger joints in US do far. I tried a bit of Texas burger, El Paso burger, Cajun fries and wings. Burgers were great with the meat well-prepared but the Cajun fries and wings were exceptionally good. Will definitely revisit the place."

The rockstars of the night were the Truffle Mac and Cheese the Roasted Duck Confit. If you like Mac and Cheese, order it. If you’re so so about M&C, then pass on it and get something different.Roasted Duck Confit Fall off the bone confit. Loved the port reduction and as a guy who loves sauce, yup, I would have also drank this like soup. The duck was very tender, but don’t expect a crispy duck skin. The potato gratin was also executed flawlessly and paired nicely with the green beans.Mussels You get an option of several different bases. We chose the Thai and it tasted like a sweet Tom Kha soup. Solid dish. And if you like mussels you’d love the variety of different flavors.Burger Solid patty and the buns are ciabatta. Loved the caramelized onions. Nothing TOO special with this dish, but a solid choice for those who crave a burger.Escargots Classic herb and butter sauce. Escargots were a bit small, but again, a solid execution! Be sure to order some extra ACME bread to dip up the sauce : French onion soup I’m a stickler for a solid French onion soup and am always searching for the best there is. Is it the best I’ve had? No. Is it still really good? Yes. It had an excellent amount of cheese and a very good broth. What could have been better? The best French onion soup I’ve ever had made it in a way of preserving the crispy bread even inside of the broth. Is my preference technically authentic? Probably not, but it’s damn good : I would certainly still order this classic soup here next time I’m back : Rum raisin gelato Creamy, not too sweet, and a good dose of rum flavor.I look forward to returning here and will try the pork chop next ;"
