"I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Clay Oven Indian Restaurant in Roxbury, New Jersey, and it was truly a culinary delight! The standout dish for me was the Lamb Korma, which was expertly prepared and bursting with incredible flavors. "My family of 5 booked a last minute reservation after moving our son into his college apartment that day. We LOVE Indian food, and we’re very happy overall with Tabla! We were seated right away, and brought waters and a menu. Drink order taken, I ordered 1 glass of wine. It took about 10 full minutes for the wine to be delivered, and then another 10 min for our server to take our order. About 10 more minutes, and 4 out of the 5 dished were delivered to the table. 5 or so minutes later the chicken tenders and fries for our youngest came. The food was outstanding in flavor and presentation. Portion sizes were decent as well! A few of us had the Paneer tiki masala, 1 Chana masala, our 5 year old chicken and fries lol, my husband the Junglee Lal Mass, a lamb dish that he could not stop raving about! We typically spend around $15 a dish for Indian food in our hometown of Tampa, and these dishes were all over $20 each. Overall delicious and a lovely evening, just think the service could’ve been slightly more attentive. Would definitely go back."

"the service was terrible yesterday. the restaurant was full and there were several food deliveries or orders. it seemed as if the waiting staff and the kitchen could not treat all orders. we had a reservation for 18 o'clock and the hostess didn't seem to care how she seems to do it as if she liked us doing one by joining two 2-tops. we ordered to sit within 5 minutes and with our order, asked for 4 glasses water in addition to other drinks. our other drinks came out, but no water. we had to ask another two times before we received. we immediately got our appetizers and then it took an hour to receive our dinner entrees. not even the server came by to give us an update or to apologize for it for so long. they could only cook for a table or a job at a time. when we finally got our food with 2 orders of rice, the rice was boiled and crispy. how do you bleed? if they are in the mood for Indian food, I recommend finding another facility in the pasadena area where they value customer service and high quality food."

"An excellent mix of both Himalayan and Indian cuisine, with an interior decor that reflects well on both cultures with images of mountains and decorated with Tibetan prayer scarves of blue, white, red, yellow and green. There was even a special dining spot available on a raised platform with a low table and cushions for those wanting a more authentic dining experience. Enjoyed a fare of paneer tikka masala over rice, my companion appreciating the tofu saag, with some simple soup that would keep you warm on a cold night in the Himalayas. Soft, but crispy garlic naan bread made good for mopping up the sauces, and a wonderful dining experience. Our waiter R provided excellent service with good attention and made sure our visitation was very satisfying. There are even some gifts and curios available for purchase, to make the cultural atmosphere something to take home and enjoy, as well. Thank you for a most pleasant and fulfilling experience. "For $15 a head, my husband and I enjoyed the lunch buffet. Wonderful salads and raita along with hot veg and non-veg entrees. Friendly service with hot buttered naan. Spicy chai provided with buffet so we drank up. Exquisite kheer (sort of like rice pudding) for dessert. We had no idea it was here and we found it when we got turned around looking for a different restaurant. One of the best wrong turns we ever took!"

"The food at this restaurant is excellent, but be cautious when telling the waiter you like spicy food as they may make it VERY spicy! We had asked for medium spice level but had to add mango puree to tone it down. The regular curry is already quite spicy. The flavors are great and the staff is accommodating."

"My husband and I went there a couple of weeks ago but the food and service were sooo good that even after weeks, im still thinking abt it and thought I’d I write a quick review :)We were served by Sachin. Sachin was immensely helpful! I have certain allergies and he went back to the kitchen a couple of time to make sure the ingredients I’m allergic are not part of my entrée. He also made helpful suggestions and was very tentative. The good did not fail either! We got chicken tikka masala as one of our entrees and surprisingly it was finger licking good! The drinks were spot on and delicious! They did NOT sting out on the alcohol lol. Totally recommend this place!!"
