"Since the one in KC closed, we have to wait until we go to Wichita, which has only been about 5 times in my life.... The last 2 times was specifically to eat at Abuelo's. Yes, we like it enough to drive an hour just to eat there. My wife and I have not had anything bad there, and their salsa choices are excellent. The fire roasted and green salsa's are the cats pj's."

"We went for the first time in years, honestly had forgotten about them. Seating was immediate, also the server was very friendly. We did have to wait awhile for our waters and the chips to come out, the salsa trio they bring out was reallydelicious. We both ordered enchiladas, they were okay, not very flavorful. We did try a side of the potatoes, those weredelicious, but odd as a side for enchiladas."

"On my first visit to this restaurant, I decided to try a variety of dishes by ordering The Grande. Overall, I had a great experience. The Chile Relleno was absolutely amazing and I am looking forward to having it again. However, I found the crispy taco to be a bit basic and lacking inspiration for a restaurant of this caliber. The drink options were excellent, particularly the margaritas which I would rate 5/5 stars. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely plan on returning soon."

"This restaurant is a lovely place with a welcoming atmosphere. The walls are adorned with beautiful paintings and murals. The service was superb, attentive without being overbearing. Our server was very knowledgeable and our food was served promptly and was both delicious and hot. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. They also offer a cute gluten-free menu for those with dietary restrictions."

"My experience at this restaurant was awful from the start. The waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there and was just trying to make money. When taking our orders, she repeatedly said "and then," which was confusing and frustrating. She kept trying to clear our plates before we were done eating, which became humorous over time. The food tasted like something you would get at Taco Bell, with my quesadilla being two corn tortillas filled with meat and topped with Velveeta cheese. The overall meal was like a mix between a Mexican pizza and an enchilada, and was not enjoyable. The only good part was the beer, which is hard to mess up."

"I got cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and of course had to have my fix of chips and salsa! Loved it and ate too much. LOL. Hadnt had tex mex in quite awhile so it was a great treat. Daughter got the shrimp and steak fajitas which looked fabulous as well, and mom got variety platter and hubby had shrimp, scallops and mushrooms in creme sauce on top of a fish plate.Sis got pork tenderloins with enchilada dinner. All looked and tasted great. I loved it. And our server was very attentive and kind. And they had to work around two of us in wheelchairs. Great evening out."

"This place really has the BEST Mexican tacos in Appleton. The hand made tortillas add another layer of authenticity and flavor. I highly recommend tasting all the meats on their Tuesday special. In addition, they have tasty and creative cocktails like the mangoneada and the micheladas. Be warned that Tuesdays are extremely busy and you may have to wait but they're definitely worth it."

"Ordered a side of beans and rice for our daughter, the ABUELO'S DIP SAMPLER (did double guac because we didn’t want queso diablo), hubby ordered MI ABUELO'S MANJAR and I got PECHUGA CON CALABAZA.The beans are really good and so is the rice, can tell it’s fresh!The sampler was really good, I enjoyed how they had pork rinds instead of just chips, I’ve never thought of that before but it was life changing to try that with queso! So! Good!My hubby really seemed to like his dish, I barely tasted a bite of it, but what I did taste was good! I’m really picky about ground beef options in Mexican restaurants, but this was quite good!My dish was really good! My waitress recommended it and I enjoyed it a lot. It wasn’t crazy spicy which I personally appreciated, but I think she left the actually chilis out which helped in terms of the heat.All in all, it was good and I recommend! I’m sure we will go back again in the future!"
