"We flew directly from Quebec City especially to live the Raymonds experience with a friend. We are huge fans of Top Chef Canada and we had a crush for Ross Larkin, winner of the 2018 edition. Our first contact with his food was at FoodCamp...in Québec in March of this year. We did look at the Opentable reviews only when we arrived in St. John 's. Some comments were to the effect that it was too pricey and the service not on par with what you could find at other high end restaurants. Other comments were very positive so we decide to go with a very open mind and give Ross, Celeste and the staff a chance to impress us... We were right!!! First, the ambiance is cosy but still chic! The building is gorgeous and very well maintained from both the inside out. It sets the table very well for a gastronomic feast. We selected the 5 course menu along with wine pairing. The house offered us a mise en bouche and then followed the 5 course meal. Each course had its own and unique set of flavours and textures. Nothing was blend… The wine pairing was one of a kind(We were lucky enough to have been there the night after they had a wine selection event so we had access to incredible wines that we should not have had access to. The service offered by Adam was also perfect. He made us feel welcome and took very good care of us. Of course those restaurants are pricey!! What do you expect from a restaurant where the chef was elected Top Chef Canada!!!"
