"'Good Pizza is Objective ' Every summer I get different cravings for my dinner Thursday nights. After a 2-2.5 hour drive (after a long work day and week I look forward to getting upstate and satisfying my craving. Years ago it was La Chocolat, then a few years later it was Jr. Combo from Dougies. This year it is Pizza! Now some people think good pizza is subjective. No way! Of course you can like one pizza more than another but whether pizza is good or not, is objective. Personally, I think Bravo pizza is the best tasting all around pizza in the world. I 'm strictly talking about taste (crust, sauce, cheese... . Since I 'm hardly ever in the city, Pizza Time in Flatbush is a close second. Now that we are moving to Cedarhurst I am so psyched that Benny 's pizza tastes EXACTLY like Pizza Time. Back to the subject at hand...I never really found a pizza upstate that is good. I always thought pizza upstate was horrible, almost as bad as Pizza in Israel. This post originally was going to knock down a pizza place upstate but I try to be positive about life and not negative. So instead of naming a bad pizza place and knocking it, I will be naming a good pizza place! So, my craving this summer is pizza and I 'm so happy that the closest pizza place to my bungalow colony is also a good pizza place, with the only good pizza upstate. Swan Lake pizza is less than 10 minutes away, and since it 's not in middle of Monticello or any other major area, there is never a wait. Last Thursday night I pulled up at 7pm. While I was not even in the store yet the guy gives me a big smile and hello and I ask for a pie to go. By the time I reach the counter to pay, it 's ready and I 'm on my way. In and out in under a minute. The taste...I mean it 's not Bravo or Pizza Time or Benny 's but it 's still GOOD pizza. And the only good pizza upstate. Tonight I was running behind schedule and unfortunately they were going to be closed by the time I got there so since I had the pizza craving, I decided to try out another pizza place. One of the popular ones that guys swear by. I got a pie and regretted it the second the first slice touched my lips. Absolutely disgusting. I don 't get how guys can eat this stuff and have the audacity to call it good pizza. It boggles my mind. I don 't get how people can be so taste-blind and not know the difference between good pizza and bad pizza. I dare anyone to show me a good slice of pizza that isn 't from Bravo, Pizza Time, Benny 's or Swan Lake. If you can, I will be so grateful that you have allowed to me expand my pizza choices. But I highly doubt that you will find any. You will just be embarrassing yourself by recommending horrible pizza and showing me you have no taste. Nothing like good pizza. Nothing worse than bad..."
