"Max's of Redwood City used to be a great place for a harder meal, group parties or family excursions. Recently it has actually shown that it is age and is dated. The employees only do their job and through another shift. Once we saw ourselves on the way, now it's a last resort."

"Max's is our go to eating establishment before an evening opera in San Francisco. We can park once and walk! The food is dependably excellent, the service efficient and friendly, and the prices reasonable for San Francisco. My favorite dish is either the shrimp or crab Louis. It has beautifully fresh greens and vegetables, and loads of fresh crab or shrimp. Actually, ALL their dinner salads are superb! Another delicious entree to try is their Paella wonderfully seasoned and chock full of a variety of fresh fish."

"This place is not what it used to be. We had to wait at least minutes to even be greeted and seated. We were finally seated and it was quite obvious they were short staff. Once seated we were never greeted either by our server. There looked to be one server in our section and he was avoiding contact with us. Finally after waiting for minutes we got up and left. I will never come to this place ever again. I understand if you’re short staff but acknowledge your customers and advise them if the situation. The restaurant looked dirty and very chaotic."

"Reuben was pretty delicious. The pastrami was very delicate and juicy. The Coleslaw, potato salad and cucumber salad were quite blanching. They serve a variety of American foods. Service was great."
