"We went here for a friends birthday dinner last night and it was wonderful! I expected the food to be delicious and it definitely was! I was pleasantly surprised with all of the staff. We were greeted immediately and although we had to wait a few short minutes to be seated the hostess actually chatted with us and made us feel very welcome. When we were taken to our table a birthday card was hand delivered to my friend; a nice little touch to make things a little more personal. Sean was our server and Caiden was helping him out and they were both very professional but made us feel comfortable enough to just be ourselves at the same time. That’s hard to find at fine dining but when you do it’s definitely somewhere you want to keep coming back to! When it came to the service the cherry on top was John (one of the managers) stopping to wish a happy birthday to our table too. It was a Tuesday evening but the restaurant was still buzzing with guests and a few large parties. Being that we were just a table of three I was not expecting that but it was so appreciated and made us feel like more than a bottom line but actual guests. We had appetizers, a few different cuts of steak, the blt wedge salad and a delicious salted caramel gelato atop the caramel cake instead of the usual vanilla. Sean was spot on with that suggestion it was divine! Everything was absolutely perfect I couldn’t have asked for a better night to celebrate my dear friend. We cannot wait to dine here again! I want to add I never leave reviews and I travel for business and pleasure on a monthly basis but Ocean 44 exceeded my expectations!"

"Came here for lunch on a saturday mainly because it's dog friendly. Got there around 230pm they sat us at a high chair area and that would have not worked well with our dog. So we asked them if we could get a bench. They said they would put us back on the list. So we sit outside and wait, and wait, and wait. It's almost 4pm and we see a BUNCH of tables open. We waited an hour just for a bench even though there was a bunch available. Very frustrating. When we finally sat down our server was very nicr and attentive. We were super hungry at that point so got a pretzel and out entrees ordered. I got the pierogi with kielbasa. My bf got the chopped beef sandwich. So the pretzel was DELICIOUS. I would order 3 of those, plus the beer cheese sauce yum. Everything else to me was meh. Pierogis were too much and not that good. It was a lot on the plate that didnt work well. So we orderes the tator tots as well loaded. Those were okay, kind of soggy but good flavor at least. The pretzel to me was the best thing and if we came back that's all i'd get. My boyfriend loved his sandwich and most of the food. The rose I got was deliciois. Atmosphere was okay, very loud with games and things going on. But lots of pups so love that Overall its a meh for me. i'd only ever go back for the pretzel and rose. It's also in a sketch neighborhood. Wouldn't feel safe going at night. Was an adventure overall."

"Our entire experience was completely horrible. I rarely take time out of my life to write reviews however we had such a bad time that I feel as if it is warranted. We get there for our 2:00 reservation and are seated at a dirty table. Food and stains all over the table cloth. We asked to switch to a different table, which was accommodated. There were no instructions on where drinks were(we did not even know there was a mimosa bar until halfway through our meal) and we were not introduced to any server to take our drink order. The food was decent-sushi was very fishy and the “charcuterie board” consisted of 4 meats(bologna being one of them) and 4 cheeses. That is hardly a brunch worthy charcuterie board. The service was horrendous. No one ever took our drink order and we had to wave down someone to get us water as well as to take our plates which were never cleared without asking. None of the waiters seemed to know any English. We asked for a new fork and the lady had to get someone else because she did not know what we were asking for. No one came to ask how we were doing the entire time. Before making the reservation for 2:00, I called to confirm that we were not going to just be getting the “leftovers” from the earlier seatings. I was assured that fresh food was made and brought out until 3:00pm. THAT WAS A LIE!! There was absolutely nothing fresh after about 2:20 and by the time it came time for us to have dessert, there was literally nothing left. No cake, maybe one or 2 parfait options and a small German chocolate cupcake. That is pathetic. If I am paying the same price as everyone else, I deserve to have the same options everyone else did. Not to mention the fact that they started wheeling out the food prior to 3pm. I don’t know about you, but I don’t shovel food in my face nor should I have to in order to get a sufficient amount of food in 1 hour. It was brunch, we were planning on enjoying each others company which could not be done. Horrible experience."
