"I work throughout the Middle West and dinee over 100 days a year in the best restaurants in Detroit, Chicago, Cincinati, etc. I ate in Magdaleno Ristorante 22 times 2021 and between my employees and me tried every item on the menu (together with a fair share of different wines). Chef Ernesto has created the best combination of taste, atmosphere and service that I have met so far. I have never felt welcome and taken care of in a restaurant and the food is consistently phenomenal. The menu is full of taste, but never too rich. I drove over 50 miles a way to eat here at least 5 occasions. The anticipation builds on a fever pitch on the drive while we discuss our potential selection of dishes and wines (which know the menu of heart). The fever breaks while we enjoy in and comfortably 2 hours of fine food, wine and conversation. The return is filled with coveted murmured exclamation about this dish or that "better than ever, but how? It was the best.” If you are in the larger Detroit area, I recommend a pilgrimage to this gem. If you do, I assure you, as Kipling said, “a full gorge and a deep sleep”."
