"Tried out Chispas for happy hour during the week, we very much enjoyed the experience and I would recommend anyone spending some time downtown to check them out. We sat at the bar—the bar service was attentive and friendly and they made some good recommendations for us about their favorite tacos. The happy hour specials were great, especially for downtown $3 Pacifico Modelo, $6 margaritas, $5 queso among other similarly-priced specials, also a HH Taco of the Day). The food came out quickly and exceeded my expectations. Reading some other reviews gave me the expectation that it might be bland but that was not my experience at all. I had the Wild Mushroom and Pork Belly Adobado tacos and they were both well and heavily seasoned and packed with flavor. I will echo the sentiment that the tortillas were a little on the thick side, but they were clearly made fresh and were high quality. Overall, if the quality of the food and specials continues then I could easily see Chispas becoming my new go-to taco spot for lunch or happy hour."
