"Made a large party reservation inside the private room and I have to say that the service at Larsen's is on point. I had to make multiple calls to modify the number as well as ask them several questions and I received courteous answers each time despite the number of times I had to call in. Throughout the meal, the waitress Aly (Alyssa) was very patient and accommodating to our party size and deserves applause for how she provided service to us. Food-wise, everyone ordered a wide arrange of food, but we didn't hear a single complaint from our guests (party size of 17). From the children to the wise adults, everyone enjoyed their food from visual appeal to the taste of the food. Of the several steakhouses I've been to, this was probably one of the few steakhouses that I've been to that puts quite a bit of effort in not just their main entrees, but also their appetizers and sides. Even something as tiny as the chips in the spinach and artichoke dip and something as integral as the tuna tartare; everyone was surprised at how well seasoned the tuna was (it reminded me of a nice tuna poki) and how crisp the chips were for the dip along with how much spinach and artichoke was in the dip itself. The entrées were done very well and visually very appealing. The tomahawk steak was of notable visual appeal and amazingly tender. The sea bass was a noticeable size with moist and flakey inside. The mashed potato sides and grilled asparagus were a favorite amongst everyone and the mac and cheese made people quite envious and considered order another side for their entrée. From my personal view point, the wet aged steak (New York Strip) was very flavorful and tender. Better than a normal steak in my opinion and made quite nicely. The temperature was right and the season was on point where it wasn't overly salty and you can still taste the full flavor of the steak. The mashed potato side was very smooth and buttery to the taste. Doesn't feel overly heavy so I wonder if it's whipped mashed potato too. The grilled asparagus was nicely prepared and still tender to the bite while being grilled and not burnt. Again, I loved how attentive they were with even their sides. All in all, I was quite pleased with how the event and food were handled by Larsen's. I highly recommend them for a special occasion and their food is quite exceptional in my opinion. As told, the dry would be higher in tenderness, but a bit less in flavor compared to a wet aged steak. One day, I'll be able to do a side-by-side comparison perhaps. Until then, definitely worth a try for you to formulate your opinions."

"As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with the distinct smell of old bar water mixed with a bucket of mop sauce. It was pretty disgusting... and I still sat down. It was the dirty rag being dragged across the counter where my beer was gonna sit where I drew the line. I asked the waitress if the rag was clean. If a patron is asking that, the staff should prolly get an idea that possibly there is some distrust from the patron, like, I dunno, maybe they smell something or, maybe, they saw the hand towel that was used and the dinginess of it. I've been here four times and every time the experiences left a lot to be desired. The first time was just us, a friend and her boys. The food was ok, the drinks were amazing, but the restaurant itself was just poorly maintained. Our wait staff was ok, nothing to complain about but nothing memorable or especially motivating to say we had great service. The second time, the waitress was much more present but again the restaurant had a distinct odor and just had a feeling of ick, like you found the Southside of San Antonio's dungeon and there was moss and algae growing. The worst part was my son getting really sick. I have an iron stomach but my son was out for two days and it wa The last time I came by because the game was on. There's a Planet Fitness in the same shopping center and I'm assuming that ALL the bodybuilders, gymrats, and staff ALL came at the same time and had finished doing a HIIT routine because damn it stank. I looked at my waitress in the eye after asking her if the tag was clean, she looked at me like I had asked her out on a date in sign language. Mouth agape and the eye roll was enough to tell me she didn't really give a damn. I left without a drink, the score, or a goodbye as I couldn't help but wonder how the hell this place stunk so bad. Pro Tip: There's a Subway next door; now look, I'm not one to be casually recommending Subway to folks but if your are desperately hungry and can't bother to drive to Don Pedro's down the street, get this instead. The smell of 6 cheese bread is better than wet socks around the corner."

"Tried this place out on a Saturday around noon. Ordered the family chicken and ribs meal with chicken pasta, Mac n cheese, garden salad, and 2 extra sides of black beans and mashed potatoes w/gravy. The chicken pasta was creamy, but bland- would not get again. The mac n cheese was ok- my 10 year old didn't like it though that's one of his favorite foods boxed/homemade/El Pollo Loco/Popeyes, the black beans were ok. The mashed potatoes w/gravy were good. The ribs: the meaty exterior chunk of the pork ribs was super dry, the meat closer to the bone was more moist, but they were not juicy, fall off the bone, or fresh looking like some of the pics posted in prior reviews. The seasoning was good, but more like a rotisserie chicken you'd get from the grocery store, not like a southern BBQ rub and the ribs do not have a smoked flavor even though the restaurant smells like a traditional BBQ joint. The chicken: seemed old and dry...and I went for the thigh. The seasoning was the same as the ribs. IMHO, El Pollo Loco is better and if you want a standard, juicy rotisserie chicken- Smart and Final has a great bird for under $10. The BBQ sauce was weak, it did not have bold flavors like Sweet Baby Rays or Kinder. The sauce for the chicken wasn't that good either; there was a slight taste of cilantro but not sure what else was in it- I mainly used it because the chicken was dry. There were three ppl dining inside the restaurant (on Sahara Jones) when we went and there were only 2 slabs of ribs cooking, unlike prior pics with several slabs of ribs going all at once. Business seemed slow. No problems with the staff. Food was put together quickly, we were out the door in less than 10 minutes. There is plenty of seating inside, but, unless you want to smell like BBQ the rest of the day, I wouldn't recommend dining inside. I might try this place out for lunch for a wrap during the week. Maybe the chicken will be fresher then."
