"The food here is supposed to be good but it wasn't during my visit. The service was some of the worse I've ever experienced. The water glasses and the carafes (with water were not clean having fingerprints and smudges on them. There was 8 of the us and the orders for many of us were incorrect or took an inordinate amount of time to get. On one order the waiter insisted the customer was given the bread they requested but on her bill it listed the one she actually got vs what she ordered. It was obvious the waiter did not want to do his job and he didn't bother to be helpful. He brought 8 water glasses and set them all on one end of the table, not distributing them. He did the same with the dinner plates and silverware. When politely asked to remove an empty plate he refused saying they preferred to clean the entire table all at once. Once the waiter gave out the individual checks he hung close by waiting for payment. It was uncomfortable, feeling rushed to pay while some were not done eating. Sure seems that the waiter needs a different job. I had the CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA(Charcoal roasted boneless chicken cubes cooked with herbs and spices in a special creamy sauce. and found the chunks of chicken to be tough and not in bite sized pieces. I personally won't ever cross their threshold again and based on service wouldn't recommend this restaurant."

"it was very quiet and not many visitors. my nudeby and I like to eat Indians, but we are certainly not versed to order so that we can decide a bit. the restaurant was very accommodating and allowed us to place our order in etappen as we have decided. everything was skillful and perfectly spiced. we enjoyed our meal and service was wonderful."

"They put Brocolli and Zucchini in their Biryanis. People, if you have an item on your menu, please make sure you have a cook that knows how to make it. The food was generally contaminated. Their average spice level has hardly any spices. Otherwise the service was pretty good."

"This was our 1st time trying Indian food and we came away very satisfied from our experience. Everything we ate was delicious and the servings were more than enough for us. The garlic naan was amazing as were the samosas. The chicken tikka was so flavorful and unlike anything my palate had ever tasted. An explosion of flavor. Very very impressed with Biryani Pot and will definitely be coming back on a regular basis. They have a regular customer in me. Thank you to the staff at Biryani Pot."

"As other customers came in for takeout orders, they were immediately greeted while my group was completely ignored for another 10 minutes. Feeling completely disregarded, we decided to leave. We explained to the staff why we were leaving, but they didn't even bother to look up from what they were doing. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place, or at the very least, ordering delivery. It was clear that they have no regard for customer service."

"A 3 year old with an iPad could tell you that cap hills abundance of Indian buffets means there will inevitably be winners and losers, and while New India Express is no culinary winner, it makes up for any shortcoming with exceptional service. The owner is a sweet lady who always remembers you and sees to your meal with a conversation beyond pleasantries. The food is good, and the price is right. The decor is a really quite tasteful, and having been around for quite some time, this restaurant knows what it's doing."

"I had a completely different experience than most reviews for this restaurant. I went on a Friday night and it was completely empty next to another person. The service was great and the food didn't last long. We ordered samosas, chai tea, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and mango chicken. The samosas are perfect and had the good level of spices in it. The Chai tea was a *Tad* too sweet, but I loved the taste of how authentic it was! The garlic naan was fluffy and paired perfectly with the chicken tikka masala. The only drawback is that the mango chicken was too sweet for my pleasure, and I would prefer a little more taste. I would go back here :"

"when I lived in Davis, this was my favorite Indian restaurant. Imagine my delight when I noticed it was available on DoorDash to me here in Woodland. I had the lamb which was perfectly delicious and moist and flavorful. The pakoras were delicious and substantial without being greasy. I added the thai addition which included rice, perfectly cooked, large Naan, and a delicious vegetable curry plus a delicious lentil soup. I have enough food for three meals at least and I feel like my splurge was well worth it. Definitely five-star Indian food in every way."

"they should clearly state what has nuts in it. I had a terrible afternoon/evening when i ate it without realizing it contained cashew nuts which i'm allergic to. When I called the staff said there isn't any cashew its just almond but i clearly see the cashew nuts in it.Dietary restrictions: some dishes contain almond and cashew. isn't indicated on the menu."

"I love this place absolutely. Your food is consistently delicious, and the staff is friendly and professional. The portion sizes were generous, easily serving four people despite there being only two of us. The pakora was a standout for me, perfectly crispy and seasoned. Both the biryani and lamb dish were also scrumptious. We visited the restaurant at 5 pm, making for a peaceful and quiet dining experience due to the lack of crowds."
