"Lot of style with not much function to back it up.Showed up 20mins after their Sunday lunch opening and I was left to linger for a while before a hostess regretfully shuffled up with not even an attempt at a smile. Just pointed a table out in a dank corner without bothering to walk me over. I took a well lit table instead.Table server was competent and friendly.As I finished, I went to. At groom and asked my server to bring check. When I returned my table was completely cleared… including my personal effects. Come on now….Music too loud. Lot of staff just standing around the bar and being unobservant of how to prepare/attend to guests.No need to return."

"Itadakimasu! This hidden gem of a ramen shop offers authentic noodles, flavorful broth, personalized service, and a cozy atmosphere. The Japanese staff reminds me of my experiences in ramen shops in Japan. The small dining room may be simple, but the focus is on serving top-quality ramen – I highly recommend trying the 14oz tsukemen. With only four tables inside and two outside, it has the typical cozy feel of a Japanese ramen shop. I will definitely be dining here again! The noodles themselves are fantastic, just what I was looking for in Southern California. Gochisousamadesu!"

"Great place downtown for some really interesting takes on classic Japanese food. Nice atmosphere and an excellent bar as well. If cost is a concern, there is a robust happy hour menu that knocks quite a bit off, allowing you to sample even more! The sushi rolls were fantastic, and some were quite different and worth a shot. Karage and rolls were top notch, the ramen was not. That's my only knock. Plenty of parking and other businesses nearby to enjoy."

"I’ve been here twice now and have gotten the sashimi omakase twice. 24 pieces for $58. The sushi chef does well to give a nice variety of toro, sake, and hamachi and though the fish is fresh and delicious, I don’t think the best cuts are included. Their other food is passable: the grilled pork belly is a good pick from the izakaya menu thick pieces and the right amount of smoke. Miso Kama is also quite nice but if you’re looking for a classic Kama with the ponzu, skip the miso because it definitely changes the dish a bit. Ramen can be skipped. Rolls are typical and a bit over priced $14 per). Chawanmushi steamed egg) is also a meh. Service is nice and friendly but for a restaurant this size, I’d suggest one more server to keep things running. Parking is generally pretty easy. It’s located in a quiet area just off 92 in foster city. Give em a go!"
