"Exceptionally good for St. Bart's. We have had a villa here for 10 years and have witnessed many changes, most of which have not been good. There are only a handful of restaurants that offer a decent meal at a reasonable price (for St. Bart's standards). This restaurant is located where the now closed Wall House used to be. The decor is fantastic, the atmosphere is great, and the food is delicious. However, it is quite expensive. Despite this, my wife and I enjoyed the food so much that we returned a few nights later and ordered the same dishes again. The veal chop was out of this world, the grilled octopus was the best we have ever had, and the cheesecake was absolutely spectacular. It was a bit annoying when the waiter came to our table at the end of the evening and asked how much we wanted to tip. This seems to be a common practice on the island. In France, there is typically a 15% service charge included in the bill at restaurants. It appears that the waiter may assume American tourists are willing to tip an additional 15-20%. French patrons typically do not ask this question and many do not leave an extra tip. Usually, I would leave a tip of at least 5-8% if I enjoyed the service. This new practice led us to seek out a new resort. However, if you are seeking a wonderful culinary experience, this restaurant is worth a visit."
