"My favorite German place on LI! This place is great. Staff are all friendly and make you feel like family. I don't think the decor has changed since the 80s, but it's so classic and very clean. And the food is out when this world. I went with the sausage plate with potato pancakes. You get a total of 3 sausages. A pig, a beef. All a good size with distinctly different taste. The pig was my favorite with a little smokey taste. The potato pancakes were beautiful and crispy. They had a soft inside and were the best with a spoon of apples on the top. I also tried the Jagerschnitzel. That was probably my favorite Jagerschnitzel I ever had in a restaurant. It is veal, not pork, and between them cook it perfectly and the taste of mushroom sauce, I was in love. For the desert I went with a peach of Melba. I think it was Häagen-dazs ice cream, a freshly cut peach on top, and a layer of raspberry jam. Great way to finish the meal."
