"The waitress was nice when we first came in but shortly after seating us she quickly forgot about us. It took a long time to get our drinks (water) and we waited an hour for the food. There was a gathering at the bar of the workers who clearly knew or were kin to the guest at the bar. The focus was talking and catching up with them. The young man who was not our waiter felt sorry and came to finally apologize to and check on us. My first Ethiopian restaurant experience was not a good one. The food was hot and tasted pretty good."

"I had never eaten Ethiopian food before. It was an enjoyable experience. A friend and I came here to celebrate her graduation. Employees were so nice and the server was very patient. We ordered the beef and cheese sambussas. Delicious with the sauce they were served with. We shared the Demera Messob for 2: Doro Wot, Ye-beg Wot, Lega Tibs, Dinich Wot(very spicy , Tikle Gomen(omg! , Yatkilt Wat. Honey Wine Sangria and Indaba Sauvignon Blanc, South Africa were both delicious. I’m not into vodka but I’d surely order the sangria myself. We shared their take on Tiramisu which was fantastic! It has their homemade ice cream instead of the custard. I can’t recommend this place enough. It was delicious!!"

"Wow for starters! I absolutely love this place. Such amazing people that work here and even better food. The Teff Injera is the best way to go, it's very authentic. We got the veggie platter, Kitfo, and the mushroom Dulet. I was very impressed with everything I tasted. This was my first time having the Mushroom Dulet, and it blew my expectations out of the water! I loved everything about the food and the environment. I felt at home and we were treated with so much love and respect. This is my all time favorite Ethiopian Restaurant so far! We will be back to enjoy more of the menu. Much love"

"If you want to try Ethiopian food for the first time, you should definitely go to this authentic restaurant. I had never tried Ethiopian food and I was so glad to try here for the first time. I came here with my sister and her husband and I kid you not, we fell head over heels in love with the food! It was so good and flavourful!! The ambience was just perfect. The service was good and the prices according to me were reasonable. Overall it was a pleasant experience and also totally worth it!"

"I went with three other friends in barcote Ethiopia restaurant. we arrived shortly before 18 o'clock. there was no line. we all have the Veggie combo. it was a nice day outside so we decided to use the sitting area in the open. I decided to get my Veggie combo with hot sauce on the side. it has packed quite a lot of warmth, so if she would not like to go on the spicy side in moderation. the veggie combo was full and tasteful. I loved that injera brot it came with. one of my friends who was with us is only to move from the state to the opposite, so was the first time he had Ethiopian food. he loved it. he is not-veg so beside the order of the veggie combo he also ordered the meat sambusa, which is Ethiopian samosa. as it turned out, he was full of the Veggie combo alone, so decided to give the meat sambusa to another table. they were thrilled with his offer. I look forward to return to barcote Ethiopia and would recommend the veggie combo!"

"I took family to a local Ethiopian restaurant Masawa on W. 121st St. for the first time in years. The owner was rude — speaking to every table but my table, the server was over whelmed. The owner helped other tables, mine was forgotten. Hostess tried but the service was poor, and food was bland. The music was a poor selection of top 40 hits; the bartender Mo was great.
