"I was invited here to celebrate Mother's Day with family and friends. The food is good but not really my type of place to eat at. Our waiter forget things we order to much. I can understand at times but our waiter did it 3 times. Staff seemed welcoming for a busy day of customers.Here my main reason for taking off a star. Reservations was made ahead of our time. We arrived beforehand but part of our party was running a little late. They said they need to sit us together. Fine we can wait because our guest was only 5 minutes away in a cab. They arrived and we went in. We're told our table isn't ready yet, ok we can wait a few minutes more. Extra 15 minutes later, the party sitting at our reserved table hasn't left yet. So we had to wait almost half hour pass our reservation time, that's not good. I believe if you make reservations, your table should be ready. If it's not, you should try to make it right by first apologizing and second, fix it someway. To top it off, there was a very large group that was drinking to much who was very loud talking and singing out that just made things more annoying to deal with when you're looking to just enjoy a nice brunch."

"Hummus Kitchen is a small chain of Mediterranean restaurants. This branch, like the others, is waiter-served and charming. They offer vegan hummus dishes that are quite good. In some other branches, the falafel dishes are vegan as well. But in this branch, unfortunately, the falafel is cooked in the same oil as the meat, so if this cross-contamination disturbs you, stick to the hummus. A plus for this place is that it is located near the theater district. Although on the Happy Cow map, it looks like there are a lot of vegan-friendly places nearby, realize that most of them are more takeout-oriented and/or are not open at night. Also, note that is not particularly pleasant to walk around 9th Avenue, so if you are nearby this place has its definite advantages. Updated from previous review on 2023-03-22"

"fresh and interesting eating with an israeli/middle east twist. service was fast and friendly, but not rushed. very good selection and suggestions for me and my vegan daughter. the food was excellent! make you please yourself and order the lamb ragout over hummus, it's just so yummm. I look forward to going back and trying the oktopus and the spicy fish!"

"I had a very similar unpleasant experience as many other reviewers and do not plan on returning to this establishment. I made a 9pm reservation for 4 people on a Friday night. As my party and I arrived they lead us to outdoor seats which we asked why we were seated there in the freezing cold as no one else was sitting outside. "This was the best food I've had in a WHILE! Dinner was SO good, and the experience was great sitting at the chef's table and watching everything get prepared. We had a bottle of burgundy that was really good, and ate so much food! We started the avocado bruschetta, focaccia, asparagus, and okra. Okra is my favorite vegetable and I can honestly say this was probably the best okra I've had in my life! For entrées we had the red snapper and steak. Both were cooked perfectly. The sauce with the red snapper was just the perfect level of spice with unbelievable flavor! Please do yourself a favor and go see Chef Jess and her sus chefs at North Miznon!"

"Cute small little restaurant with really good food! Loved the spices that they had and the pita was soo warm and delicious. Started out with a couple of beers and moved onto courses of beef shakshuka and the Moroccan fish. Really loved the flavoring on these dishes and both were soo good. Service was good as well in a timely fashion and really do recommend. Cute little spot with really good food."
