"Good Eats Cheap seats. Our family usually goes to the loop for their burgers and onion rings. Their rings are large and thick cut and fried to a delicious golden brown. If I don't get a few as soon as it comes to the table, I'm lucky. They come with a diving sauce, but we onion ring purists know that all onion rings need only a little salt. Heaven forbids if you ever think of ketchup! Although I prefer my burgers to have a small moo in them (rare to med. rare) I can't go for a transplant anymore. The Loop and the Swiss burger with heavy onion are almost as well cooked. The Loop and the Swiss are a regular postoperative meal for me. Most doctors tell you that you don't eat immediately after surgery, but over the years I've found that is NOT true to me. When I roll into the O.R., I ask my wife to go and get my regular for me so I can enjoy some delicious goodness when I wake up. Every time the nurse or doc tells me you can't eat it after surgery! What I tell them, I know what I can and can, and I can eat a loop and Swiss! Our family was disappointed when the San Pablo Loop beach was closed. A sad day for Loop fans! I have two bad knees, I wake up like Frankenstein's monster in the morning. LOL I'm too young to replace them, so I'm going into what I'm a 'tune up' once a year to move me. My order is always the same, and my wife even knows without me what to wait for me. What a great woman she is! I also had a liver transplant in 2008 and the Docs were definitely against my usual post-op menu. I told them you were taking something out so I could put something back, right? They laughed and I got my usual meal. Hospital food sucks anyway! This should say enough about how good the burgers and onion rings are the loop, so go and try something!"
