"My husband and I recently visited for our Anniversary. The first 15 minutes was magical, however the experience went down hill quickly (sadly). Quick Summary: Our appetizer was so fresh and yummy. Our Steaks weren't the greatest at all. One was pretty much burnt all around the edges. Still on the juicy side but still the flavor was nearly ruined.‍ We got many sides, not knowing they were large portions. The Brussels were great. The fries pretty good. The mashed potatoes awful and no flavor. I can't remember the wine I had with my meal, because they were out of my original pick. It was very nice and balanced with the meal. With all of the food aside, my service was truly hit or miss. Our waitress assistant was amazing and helpful, however we hardly saw them. The waitress herself was so short and avoided answering questions, or just didn't know much. She also pushed us along. She wanted to bring the check and didn't ask about dessert when we were eating our meal. When I said we wanted dessert she seemed nearly annoyed. Mumbled a few options. I asked for a drink to go with dessert and was ignored/over talked. My husband stood up and walked over to reiterate/correct it. The chocolate torte was rich and sweet. Paired well with the sparkling wine. The dessert was a much smaller portion compared to the sides. Overall I was let down for such a special night. Not sure I'd ever drop that much money again for such short service. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Chocolate Tart"

"attractive restaurant in good location with beautiful view of the city and attractive decor on the inside. eating was good, but not excellent. I expected more from a rick erwin restaurant. I have the fried green tomaten (very good), the oysters (very disappointing, very small) and the calamari (good, but very average, nothing unique, they find the same at every average price seafood restaurant). I had surfing and shaking with mushrooms. the nativity was excellent. the firma crabcake was very good. the mushrooms were very good. I had a double whisky neat basil hayden and a smoked whisky mad. both were excellent, but the presentation for the smoked whisky was disappointing because their smoke machine was broken. the service was disappointing. I did not feel that the server knew the menu well and there were no recommendations or suggestions. she was pleasant, but clearly overworked. I think she was one of two servers in a busy restaurant on a Saturday night. the food lasted much too long to be served, and they were trying a little low what the food sat for some time after preparation. we spent three hours there without dessert because of the time of food. we still enjoyed it because we were with good friends and the ambiente was good, but I wouldn't take anyone there if I was eating to impress. our tip was $500 for four people. that's good for a rick erwin restaurant, but I didn't feel that I got the rick erwin experience for the money I spent. we could go back in the early year to experience the terrace. I felt this was a decent experience for spartanburg, but not for greenville. we had a bottle of wine in bo d street wines before we went to level 10 and that was a good experience."

"This deli had some of the best french fries I've ever had. Fresh, handcut, perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper (among other things), and fried crisp to perfection. We were walking around Falls Park downtown and wanted to find somewhere nearby to stop and grab a bite to eat that was casual since we had been (literally) running around town exploring that morning and didn't feel like we were dressed up enough to go to a sit down restaurant. Rick's was the perfect fit for what we were looking for! This sandwich and salad shop has counter service and plentiful tables inside and out. It's located just a short walk upstairs and across the street from the pedestrian bridge that crosses Reedy River near Main St/Wyche Pavilion. They don't have huge signage on the exterior of their building but the tables full of people dining outside clued us in that we had arrived to the place we were looking for. The menu has lots of hot or cold sandwiches and salads to choose from, both classic and creative offerings that can be customized to your preferences. They had options for sides ranging from chips, french fries, pasta salad, potato salad, coleslaw, etc. The most surprising of their menu offerings however was the beer. They had a handful of *good* beer choices in cans and bottles that were all very reasonably priced. It was about $4-5 for a craft beer. They also serve wine by the glass or bottle. It was nice that their beverage options were clearly displayed in cases so that you could see what they offered. After placing our order we were given a number to display on our table to waitstaff could locate us when our order was ready. We waited at the counter for our drinks thinking we were saving the staff a trip to our table, but they seemed to prefer patrons go ahead and be seated and let them bring things to you. Our food was brought to us in a reasonable amount of time but not extremely quickly. We were splitting the Ribeye Philly Cheesesteak and it looked so good when it arrived that we let the waitstaff walk away before asking for an extra plate. Because servers aren't constantly walking around we did have to help ourselves back where we ordered, but any slight inconvenience of servicing yourself is well worth the delicious food they are busy preparing behind the counter."
