"Went for brunch with friends. Great atmosphere and decor. That being said, I had such an awkward and uncomfortable encounter with the hostess I may not return. I said “I have a brunch reservation for Knight at 12:45”. Easy. Simple. Just facts. She stared at me for an uncomfortable amount of time and then asked me if my reservation was at 12:45 at night. I told her again my name and reservation time and she was again so confused by this sentence and the look on her face almost made me leave. Is Bishop open past 12:45am? If my reservation was at 12:45 at night, why would I be there at 12:30 in the afternoon? Do you have reservations available for 12:45am? Is it common at Bishop to have brunch at 12:45am? It made me extremely uncomfortable that she was so confused and it took her so long for it to register that my last name is Knight and no, my reservation was not for after midnight. She laughed after being told maybe three times but I found it stupid and a waste of time to have to explain so in depth the obvious. How else can I say my name and the time of my reservation? The food was average, the cinnamon roll was wonderful, the drinks were fine, the waitress was attentive and friendly, the space was beautiful. I’ll maybe try dinner for a different vibe and menu and I’ll make sure to be extremely specific when introducing myself and the time of my reservation to not confusing anyone further."
