"This is our second meal at Graylyn. We were hotel guests and ate dinner in April 2021. Things were thrown back much more because of COVID, and then I was somewhat disappointed by the menu choices. This time the menu was much more prepared with what I expected for this venue. We arrived early to walk the site and see the wonderful property. We celebrated a special birthday and the ambience created an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, and the service was attentive and cheerful. The free birthday dessert was another nice touch. We were surprised and not exactly prepared for the additional 20% service fee added to our invoice. After the confirmation this was not a tip/luck. The service fee is a nice term for charging inflation. I do not remember that you will see a notice of this fee (on the website, on the menu, etc.) . To then also tap the waiting staff on the 20% fee, our bill had to appear somewhat steep. I would go back for a very special occasion, but warn about the extra fee. I hope that's something they don't always have to do."
