"CONS They had an attitude with us literally as soon as we walked in not sure if it was because we were not white? and it was a race issue, or if it was an attitude because we had young kids with us. Few guests from our party headed to the bar from thetable at 5:55PM which I admit is late for happy hour ending at 6? but the staff were purposely avoiding us and we just keptwaiting to be serviced? When they spoke to us finally it was 5:58 they said they couldn?t service us because happy hour ends at6? well, it?s not 6 yet? but okay! we put in our dinner order late I admit, but it took awhile to get the kids settled? ittook an hour to get the food served, which is fine? but when we kindly asked on status on the order so we could decide on kidssleeping schedule they just were immediately defensive, kind and unhelpful. the managers demeanor was defensive the wholetime. He has no sense customer service instead of being apologetic and seeing how he can help the customer, he was justcomplaining about us as guests? This guy needed training in customer service and hospitality. he at the end was excusing usof wanting a discount or wanting our meals comped? It is so insulting? this made me again think he was discriminating toward usbecause we were not white. We are absolutely not looking for free food, we want good service and to be treated with respect andtbh are willing to pay more for it. PROS good food amazing views"

"UEC used to be one of my local go to spots for a a casual bite. But not any more. Prices have recently increased to the “it’s not worth it” range. $31 for a piece of farm raised Salomon and $28 chicken parm is overpriced for this cafe. Recent visit the cafe was very loud with a rowdy party table near the bar. This combined with the over priced dishes has sent me in search of a new local spot."

"Our overall experience at the restaurant was lovely. We enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden, which provided a relaxing atmosphere for an hour or two. The service we received was excellent. However, the food was a bit inconsistent. The Caesar salad was fresh, crispy, and had a nice lemony flavor. The lamb dish was excellent, but the shells were overcooked and watery, which was disappointing. The olive oil cake was a satisfying dessert. Although the meal was good, we felt it was slightly overpriced for the quality. Additionally, it was odd that OpenTable only showed a reservation available for 6pm, when the restaurant was mostly empty for the rest of the evening. It seems there may be some issues with the app or management that need to be addressed."

"We were able to make a same day reservation for the lounge. We went in for drinks and snacks, essentially. Everything was very good. The menu had a few vegetarian options. The menu was just a tad dated, with the flavor combinations and ingredients thatwere super popular in the fine dining places a couple of years ago. Service was fine. The cocktail menu was interesting, and thedrinks were very good, although the presentation was not very creative. The crowd was upscale, the dress code was businesscasual. The ambiance was nice (although as a personal preference I don't like TVs with sports on them for me, that detracts.As good as it gets 50 miles outside of the city. ????"

"Took us about 3 weeks before we were able to get a reservation, and for good reason. The service is phenomenal, they always make sure you have everything you need. The complementary appetizers are super tasty. The lobster ravioli was definitely the most memorable, despite all the hype around the spicy rigatoni. That’s not the say the rigatoni wasn’t good, it was. It’s just the ravioli had a bit more going for it. Caesar salad was pretty delicious, but nothing you can’t get elsewhere. Top notch experience and a must-try if you’re ever in New York."

"I expe some that looked like the photo and tasted like Cacio e Pepe. Unsure what I received but it's not very good. Green pasta is not al dente or fresh pasta either. Had high hopes after reading many reviews. Risotto croquettes are good. I'm also staying in a hotel and requested utensils but didn't receive any. Difficult to eat pasta without, so I guess it's okay that my pasta isn't what I ordered and not enjoyable."

"Rye was the perfect venue to celebrate my birthday with 8 of my friends; two of whom were visiting from outside of NY and haven't stopped complimenting on how delicious the food was. Rye is little more expensive than your typical NYC restaurant but it's an amount that was well spent and will be spent again."

"husband and I celebrated our jubilee and although it was rainy and windy, we drove to maidstone in 1845 at jericho tpk in woodbury. we were greeted by Ernesto who was our waiter. henesto holds a PhD in music at stonybrook and plays a fagott. he is made of venezuela and is personal and well maintained. we were the only diners since the weather was bad and it was a week at night, but the tablecloths and cork walls would keep the noise level down. I ordered the prix fixe – carrot and ginger soup, huh with sweet potato and brussels and cheesecake. husband had cuddles, ducks and chocolate wow, which was served with a huge radio as a celebration. the food was delicious and served with panache. before eating we had a cocktail – my was S’mores martini – with graham Cramper crumbles around the rim and a roasted marshmallow; his was a smoky old fashion – served in a cover that began when he lifted the smokiness. the restaurant is located in a small shopping center, back from jericho tpk. I recommend this restaurant for drinks, eating, ambiente and server."
