"This was definitely worth the drive out of downtown Charleston for a great brunch spot, even if we had to wait about minutes for our Uber back to the hotel. The classic southern breakfast items with some of the more modern or inventive twists on the classics went really well together. My husband is still talking about how much he loved the country fried steak and the bacon cheese grits. It really was the perfect breakfast for him on our last day in Charleston. The french toast was also very good even though I would have loved more strawberries it was exactly what I was looking for. We started with the fried green tomatoes and they actually were the perfect way to start off brunch not too big, but enough to tie us over while the kitchen worked on our entrees. If you are looking to go here for brunch, be sure to make a reservation. The wait without one seemed really long as many locals head here on Sunday mornings. So if you're visiting Charleston and staying downtown, be sure to make the minute drive out to Fat Hen your tummy will thank you when you leave full and very happy"
