"Overall, good but not great experience. Came here for dinner before UVa BBall game-I didn't realize its a fair bit out town. Most of the items we ordered were good and the one major miss was corrected by our very friendly server. Everyone is very friendly and service was prompt. Portions are large. I started with oysters-I thought they would be raw as I requested; they were slightly steamed and ok but not great. My duck was good (although a bit rarer than preferred) and the sides were very good. My daughter's crab cake sandwich was good. First order of ribs brought to my wife were overdone, very hard to remove from the bone, and had virtually no flavor. Waitress noticed my wife not eating them and without even a specific request by us, put in an order for a second batch without charge. Second batch were delicious. Good beer selection and we were done in plenty of time to get back south on 29 for the basketball game. Interesting that my Dark and Stormy was brought to me with the rum in a shot glass and the bottle of ginger beer and I mixed it myself. I would come again if nearby, but don't think I'd make the trip from UVA area with all the other choices close by there."

"what I had to dinner this evening was absolutely delicious. for s, while I wanted a classic flowing bordell hamburger loaded with topping avocados double type of cache. it is mouth watering s festival of the aromen combine in this piece including the classic wobbly rings and it is Coca-Cola delicious I can say enough about the close to the sinful tasty delusion. many thanks for cypress burgers"

"After about five hours of chasing the fish on our plates, my brother and I finally made it to the Manitou. We were starving like gods after being on the water all day. I know we looked a bit rough around the edges compared to the others there, who were dressed in golf attire with silver hair and an air of superiority. I couldn't help but feel that the staff might have been tired of us, perhaps viewing us as vagrants. But the experience was surprisingly wonderful. We both ordered the roasted white fish, and it did not disappoint. Overall, it was a good experience. We paid our bill at the end, although I could tell the staff might have expected us to leave without paying. Would we eat here again? Absolutely!"

"I'm so annoyed. A year ago I came here and ordered a chicken salad on everything, lettuce, tomato, onion. It was so delicious. Moist and flavorful chicken, crisp vegetables, a fresh, chewy bagel with plenty of seasoning.Well something's changed, and not for the better. I just ordered another chicken salad, lettuce, tomato, onion, on a whole wheat everything. The chicken salad is dry (you can even see the dried out parts on top that show that it's obviously been hanging out in a fridge case for too long. The bagel has barely any seasoning, and is also kind of dry and too chewy, like that's been sitting out too long too. The tomato is mushy, like it was accidentally frozen. And they forgot my onion! Considering that it's an extra $0.50 for EACH of lettuce and onion and $0.75 for the tomato what gives? (Was it always extra like that for each a la carte topping?? I'm feeling really nickel and dimed.)Walk a few more blocks south and get Brooklyn Bagel instead."

"It’s overpriced American Food. Not a wide selection of variety on the menu. No kids menu. It’s a place you go to for the ambiance, or a birthday, but jot for the quality of the food. I had a reservation, yet got seated one hour later. Food took over an hour to arrive. Waiterswaitresses don’t check in on you. You have to chase them down. Plenty of empty tables, yet I saw a family get turned away as a walk in at on a Monday afternoon. It seems the cater faster to large parties, spenders. You can just see the level of attention is directed towards larger parties"

"I just had what was probably the best dining experience I 've ever had. Celebrated my wedding anniversary with an exceptional meal, outstanding service, and of course the very best dining companion. The staff was so attentive and friendly, but never intrusive. They asked if they could take our picture and gave us a lovely photo to commemorate the night. "update they have a new look! Check photos Depending on the time of day, there will either be very long lines or no line at all, but don't let that dissuade you from going to this FiDi staple. So many different options to choose from, but make sure you know what you want before you get to the counter, things move quick! I have not had a bad bagel or sandwich from here, so you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Of course make your own (I'm partial to the everything bagel with cream cheese and lox and a cup of hot coffee (pretty good for a place like this! . Nothing beats this place the morning after a night out if you're in the area, grab a bag, a coffee, and take a walk down to the water and enjoy the sun and people."

"We had heard about this restaurant from a customer of ours and decided to give it a try. We went on line to get directions, saw the unfavorable review from Valentine's day, and had 2nd thoughts. So, we called a relative who lives near the restaurant (we are about 10 miles away). She said it very nice, so we tried it. We went on 2/15/10 and were very happy with it. We sat in the main area, not the smoking section, so I only saw the ceiling where we were. It was fine, the service was good, the place was clean, there was a container of napkins on every table. We got more food than we could eat,(a fresh salad, vegetable, potatoes, or main entree and coffee). With our over 20% tip we were still under $20, It is a simple, but nice place to eat. If you don't want to cook, want a very good meal, served quickly, at at very reasonable price I recommend it. I did not give it 5 stars only because it is not a fancy place, but I wasn't expecting it to be."

"The food at this restaurant is amazing and the prices are very reasonable. We ordered the chicken parm pizza and it was the best I've ever had, no exaggeration. The zeppole we got were also deliciously crispy, unlike the soggy ones you usually get with delivery. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be ordering from them again."
