"Perhaps the heyday has gone! Aureole has been one of the most venerable restaurants in the country no matter what location you dine in, unfortunately, my most recent experience did not meet any expectations for a restaurant of such legacy. The greeting was warm, and the wine steward was excellent. With regret, that’s where the service ended. I still don’t know our waiter’s name, nor did he introduce any specials there may have been or offer an amuse Bouche, or pay any significant attention to our table. I did see other tables that had more attention paid to them. There was a manager of some sort walking around, but no one came to our table to ask how our meal was going, as customary in fine dining. Now to the food. We sent the chicken back because it was rubbery, flavorless and soggy skinned. The cod dish was cooked well yet had a fishy taste to it. The filet mignon was perfect and the only redeeming part of that meal. We elected to completely skip dessert. When you finish with a nearly $400 tab for dinner considering all the other factors it would be my first and last visit. Perhaps my memory of Aureole was too kind. I remember having many meals at the New York outpost that were all excellent. I hoped to enjoy that same experience by choosing a familiar marquee name while in Las Vegas. I was wrong. There are so many other options to choose from."
