"We reserved a table at 7pm, but were able to arrive much earlier than planned. Seeing vacancies available online, we showed up and requested to move our reservation up (it was 4:45 at arrival) and asked to move to 5, 5:15pm, or 5:30pm as shown available. The hostess and host at the desk declined, saying they were unable to allow us a table earlier. We opted to sit at the bar for a few moments, while deciding what to do for a few hours. One bartender suggested we could eat at the bar (open seating) or cancel the original reservation and make a new one. I’m not sure why with so much open seating we needed to go through this process ourselves and why the restaurant couldn’t simply “take the reservation” and ask us to cancel the original, but we did. We cancelled the 7pm, booked the 5:15 ourselves and headed to the podium where the same hostess then welcomed us. Our server did a wonderful job, the meal was delicious. The bread was divine and all I need to say save room for the gooey butter cake! The meal took about 2 hrs overall, so plan accordingly. I can’t imagine if we’d eaten AT the bar because we needed room to eat comfortably. Overall a good experience."
