"They deserve five stars but am giving them only four because I want to motivate them just a bit more. They are not quite 'Berlin ' level Döner but the ingredients, the building blocks, are all there to make a Berlin-Level Döner. First of all, I love supporting a local 'mom and pop ' restaurant! This is a Turkish family restaurant through and through. Their service was excellent and the restaurant ambiance is very cute and European. Second, the ingredients are fresh. Everything from the freshly baked bread, baked on-site, to the veggies to the beef/lamb meat on the rotating spit: these are the freshest ingredients I 've had on a Döner, in the United States. The 'Berlin Döner ' is my benchmark and I consider myself to be a Döner connoisseur. Third, less is sometimes more. The meat-to-everything-else ratio was a bit off. With less meat and more sauce and veggies, the Döner would have been even more enjoyable! I 'd suggest removing about 33% of the meat they gave me! Yes, that much! Make room for more sauces and veggies! Fourth, in true Berlin Döner Bude fashion, when a customer orders a Döner, the cook should ideally make the Döner 'with ' the customer. What do I mean? The customer waits at the counter and works with the cook to make the customer 's ideal Döner. To start the order, the cook should grab a piece of (freshly baked bread, split it, then slide it into a bread warming press to get the sides crispy and warm. While this happens, the cook slices meat from the spit, ensuring the freshest, warmest meat is used. (Some Döner restaurants in Berlin take it a step further and cook the freshly sliced meat on a side griddle, along with a special marinade and sauteed vegetables. Think Gemüse Kebab. By the time the meat is ready, the cook then removes the bread from the press and lathers the inside with the sauce(s of the customer 's choice, usually garlic sauce, tzatziki sauce, spicy sauce, Kräuter sauce, curry sauce, or special secret sauce, etc. Once the inside of the bread is covered in sauce, the cook then adds the meat (or meat and vegtables for a Gemüse Kebab , and finally asks the customer what they want on their Döner: lettuce, tomatoes, red cabbage, white cabbage, onions, etc. Once the customer adds what they like, the cook often finishes it off with a squeeze of lemon juice, salt, pepper, and maybe red chili flakes or jalapenos if the customer wants some spicy heat upon request. The Döner is now ready to be served or packed to go. Fifth, I recommend they eventually add a chicken meat spit for those that don 't eat beef/lamb. Falafel is already an option for vegetarians. Sixth, the French fries, lentil soup, Turkish tea were all tasty and on-point. The fries even tasted exactly like what I 'd eat in Berlin! Finally, I suggest the owners take a business trip to Berlin. Go to the mountain top! Write it all off on their Schedule C as a business expense! Go to Rüyam Gemüse Kebab on Schönhauser Allee/U-Bahnhof Eberswalder Straße. See how the perfect 'Berlin Döner ' is made!"

"Manhattan's Best Mexican. Well, the internet reviews of this UWS Mexican dive all looked good so I finally decided to jump in. Glad I did. This Mexican food is way authentic and incredibly delicious, too! <br/ <br/ I have to admit, I just got take out the first time, but when I brought it home and ate it, it was the bombs! I downloaded a menu and called their . <br/ <br/ From what I'd read, it seemed like they might be slow so I called and ordered off the downloaded menu before I left. By the time I got in the car, picked up some beer at 95 Columbus and cruised up from 70 to 107, they had all my stuff waiting for me in a nice tidy bundle. 20 minutes. <br/ <br/ The carne enchilada taco was loaded with very tasty meat. I was quite satisfied, lots of cilantro and onion, too. The sope shell was kind of stale, but when you let the juices flow into it, these sopes are great beneath their meat, romaine and crema toppings. The carnitas on the sope could have been fried a little crisper though. Best of all however, was the torta. It was mega meat filled and had all of the ingredients that make a torta a torta! They also load on the mayo which is what I like and again, there is SO MUCH meat! I'll order a torta from here any day. <br/ <br/ Looked very crowded when I went there, but was fine for take out. On off hours it's really easy to snag a table. <br/ <br/ I've since been back many times for tacos, alambres, chilaquiles and many more excellent, authentic Mexican fare and I can quite confidently state this is the best Mexican in Manhattan and right here on the UWS to boot!"

"Ya'll know what this is another 4.5 star review. My cousin previously visited this spot and based on his tastebuds alone me Bae took a chance. Worth it! I'd say it is a hidden gem. On the day we arrived, the restaurant was not crowded. The steady flow of take out orders made us question our wanting to dine in. However, there are tables and chairs. As the afternoon progressed a few more folks started dining in as well. So, you place your order at the counter then either take out or take a seat. What we didn't expect was our food being served in take out containers with the lids. Sounds strange but this makes perfect sense. Less dishes and you can pack up your own food. Perfect system for portion control as well. Bae got the NC pork bbq sandwich w/slaw, potato salad and mac cheese. I ordered the ribs chicken platter w/sauce on the side, slaw and collard greens. To be clear, we are Eastern NC born and raised. The bbq wasn't bad. One of the better attempts I've tasted. Yes. I tasted his food. I was curious about the bbq. The potato salad was very good. For me a little too loose BUT this can be a tricky side dish and a touch too sweet. Again this is for me. I will eat sweet potato salad on the sweeter side it's not my personal favorite. Trust me all the flavors are there. Mac and cheese was tasty. Great cheese pull. Ribs oh boy! Tender but not too tender. Great flavor without the sauce. I prefer to find out if the meat is actually good or if the sauce is carrying it. Look! Run don't walk to get these ribs. This chicken was also delicious with crispy skin! As for the sides, the collards were nicely seasoned and not full of stems. Maybe a tiny tap more of salt. The cole slaw is creamy with a decent crunch. It has visible shreds of carrot. I'm use to you see flecks of carrots or mine at all. Carrots bring in the sweetness. The slaw compliments the bbq sandwich which needs that texture to offset the soft meat and soft bun. This version is tasty as a side but for me it's a toppings slaw like for burgers, hot dogs, bbq sandwiches. I wouldn't order again as a side. Nothing is wrong with it. I'd rather try something else. Bread in a bag? It's bread in a bag. Remember I said that our food was packed to go. For me, I would ask the customer if bread was wanted with the meal. That may save on waste cost. I ate my meat cave man style right off the bone especially since it wasn't sauced. And yes, the sauce was very good. My bbq fans are looking for hushpuppies. Womp! Womp! They were out of hushpuppies that day. Gives us a reason to go back and try more stuff. And shout out to Yelp! I received a $5 off coupon after I checked in. It pays off to check in folks!"
