"Visiting dc, wanted fish chips. this place is a dive bar for sure, you seat yourself and order at the bar. Service was good, food came quickly. The beer batter is clearly home made and tastes amazing. I do think this place could benefit from house-cut fries because the frozen fries did bring down the experience a bit, but they were seasoned well and I ate them all regardless. Would highly recommend!"

"If you’re not sure what a pasty is think “homemade hot pocket” and that’s kinda close. They have some vegan options and a decent amount of vegetarian options. There is one vegan pasty on the menu and a rotating vegan pasty of the day. When I was there the rotating option was an Indian vindaloo and was quite good, nice spice and great flavor. They also have a vegan soup and dessert. The soup might change but I had the tomato bisque and that was really good as well. Didn’t try the desert but they said it was a PB&J pasty, actually sounded pretty good. Overall I was really happy I stumbled across this place, and will definitely go again."

"I liked my flight of beer and the Asian nachos were a very good fusion exhaustion. I ordered the one-pot that, depending on how they like, hit or measures. it was very hot. overall enjoyable and good service, although some of the people at the bar a little loud/distracting/unruly for so early on the day."

"This was my first time trying O apos;Connor apos;s Public House, and it was ok. Harp Crisped Fish Chips Fish was tasty Missing extra tartar sauce Asked for no lemon got lemon Substituted Donegal Fries Probably tasty when warm. By the time I got them, they were cold and soggy. Not counting this as a negative, some things are just better fresh, and now I know. Missing special sauce that comes with the Donegal Fries. It sounded tasty... Bavarian Pretzel Sticks A little tough when I got them, but again, fresh is probably the way to go. Sauces: 2 different sauces available, each complimentary to the pretzels. Summary: kind of hit or miss as take out, but I apos;m guessing eating at the establishment itself is probably key."

"I have loved this place pretty much my whole childhood. If you wanted good irish food this was the place to go. The cottage pie , the meatloaf, the potato soup, anything in the menu was guaranteed to be delicious. This used to be a once a week spot for my husband and I. We noticed the menu expanded and could not wait to come back. The experience was unfortunately a disappointment. The cottage pie was comparable to a can of Dinty Moore. The woman who waited on us seemed more interested in getting back to her conversation with the man she was talking to. There were a total of 4 pieces of semi chewy beef in my meal. I am so sad at the death of this legendary spot in the south side. RIP Pipers Pub."

"We love going to Cornish Pasty. This was our first time at this particular location. No seats available inside at the time we were there so we opted to sit outside. The outdoor heater wasn 't working so it made it a not so pleasant dinner with our family who were visiting from out of town! One of the servers was possibly having a not so great evening! We ordered deserts and he came out and literally asked who ordered chocolate bread and butter pudding not stopping and before we could even say anything, he mumbled no one and went back inside! Our server asked if we received our desserts and we told him no, the other server came back out and said that we didn 't answer! It doesn 't matter at this point, we still got our delicious desserts! We still love The Cornish Pasty, hence the four stars for service instead of giving it less than! We probably wouldn 't visit this location since it is smaller than the one we normally go to, but still a great place for a visit!"

"So I wasn't here yet, but I heard it was good. I wonder how it will compare with the Irish pubs in Yonkers NY like the Heritage or Rory Dolans? In Yonkers, the staff is usually Irish as Patty’s Pig and have real ways to introduce themselves. Unfortunately, many bars I was in Upstate have employees who seem less to care about the customers and seem to think they are held on a pedestal and do me a favor by serving me. In addition, many of the top pubs in Yonkers and the Bronx (and NYC in general) have a buyback policy; the fourth pint is on the house! Barmen and bar women never ask if you want to change and never pick up a tip until the patron leaves the premises. I could go on, but based on my experience I am not confident that I will be impressed, but I will give it a whirlpool here!"

"Cold, dreary day so we thought we'd head out for some comfort food. My husband is British and we both adore many dishes from the UK. Had the fish n chips (always a good bet) and the chicken rasher bacon boxty.(a new to me fave) On our last visit I had a boxty for the first time and had the Reuben one. So yummy! Very skimpy portions of ketchup and tartar sauce. We had to ask for more but we were nearly finished with the dish by the time we saw someone to ask for more. We opted for bread pudding since my husband is a big fan of bread pudding in general but I cannot recommend this one. It has a congealed look and texture and just did not hit the mark at all. A squirt of canned whipped cream didn't do anything to add to the experience. Bread pudding is so easy to make, not sure why this one was just so...well, odd. Service was great and the place was quite empty given the rainy day so I can't really speak to the ambiance other than it was a bit bright for a dinner service. We will visit again as it is in the neighborhood and gives us a taste of our happy place."

"This bistro is a jewel. As soon as you enter, calm the ambience, comfort, gentleness elegant design. The owners welcome you with warm sincerity. The menu is mouthwater and the food is amazing. There are also outside the restaurant. Parking is also good. The service was amazing, attentive and timely. The elegant touch of decor in the dining area really reflect the time and love set into such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable and it is BYOB. My meal was so filled that I didn't have room for dessert, which means I'm back for a taste of apple scabbers. There is also a weekend brunch and the room is available for special events or celebrations. Thanks Mary Justin (owner) for the beautiful birthday you both sang to me, it warmed my heart and felt like we've known each other for years. Thank you for a great experience."

"Great local Irish pub. They have great happy hour prices, including Guinness. I had the chicken pot pie (see the picture with the ridiculous puffed pastry on top... Lol) It was very light and tasty. The puffed pastry was perfectly crisp and flaked into my pot pie, yum. The stew was delicious and savory. They add Irish soda bread on the side which provides a bit of sweetness. This adds the perfect touch to balance out the deep savory flavors. This is a hockey bar, so if you love hockey this is the place to be."

"my grandmother asked for the toilet room and the guy called to pay at her random, she asked a few times. we thought the rest room was out and these were paying the code to get in. on the way back from the toilet room I stopped the waitress from getting through and she started to mumbling and dinge to say with a ton. it took 50 minutes to arrive. I asked about the veggie burger, it came with speck and no avocado. when I told the server that he made me disassemble my burger to show him that he had not avocado. my daughter burger was burned. he made it better by tacking us a $10. after that they told us that they were a hired person, so I think that's why eating was safe and why everyone had a short fuse."
