"As foodies traveling from Chicago, we are tough customers. Found this restaurant on Open Table and selected it because it was dubbed a neighborhood gem. We could not have been more pleased. Do not be put off by the location, tucked into a generic-appearing strip mall. This place truly IS a gem, and it 's no surprise it 's been around for nearly 30 years. Every dish we had was wonderful, beautifully plated, and thoughtfully prepared. The wood fired cauliflower appetizer delighted with the slightly spicy tahini sauce, brightened by fresh mint. The Kodiak scallops were some of the best I 've ever had- large and perfectly prepared, atop a sweet corn pumpkin polenta that left me wanting to super-clean my plate using my finger. Wow. We shared the dark chocolate terrine for dessert- plenty for two and equally dazzling. I 'll add that we do not eat gluten, and dined like royalty here with no problem and no adjustments needed on the dishes we easily selected. Our server was friendly and attentive and she clearly enjoyed how much we were loving our experience. The chef even came out to introduce himself when he learned of faraway travelers who had found his lovely establishment. SO glad we opted to get out of downtown Anchorage for the evening to experience this fabulous meal!"

"my evening last night was one of the worst experiences I had in one. apparently, right in front of our table of 9 all barkeepers sat up. our drinks lasted 50 minutes to arrive. when they did, the waitress had a cocktail, a false beer, a false wee (a red wine was ordered and a white wine came out) and lacked the rest. a gast 's bottle of beer took 90 minutes to come. sure, the people who worked the bar were rejoiced after the team was ended, but someone told us in front and at least apologetic, that would have been 've ok. then we have one of our two appetizers, the sampler. it tasted good, but it looked pretty institutional. the meerrot rindsalpine pieces looked like comminuted rest. at the 50-minute mark when I asked for a manager. the waitress was very sweet. the manager should have been over without having to ask because the lack of service was painful. she came by and had no idea who wanted to talk to her. I put our care to the test and she told us the story of the bar. she wasn't super apologetic, but she brought our second appetizer. the meal finally arrived. the woman next to me got her laughs almost raw. the birthday boy got the grilled seafood trio, that was cold. I got the crabcake. which in the round was a disassembled brunette in a sauce that had a coating over it, sitting out too long. I started with the heap salad, that was really pretty good. all in all, I want to be sensitive to personal lack. I understand it's hard. but what I don't have is a manager who can't handle the problems or handle them properly. while waiting for our controls, the manager also went over the dining room to chew for food from the kitchen. when we were gone, she said thank you for coming. but not said so sorry for all the problems, we hope they will be back."

"The best way I can describe Battello is PERFECT .From the moment my husband and I met with Dominique at Battello we knew we had found the place we would want to celebrate our marriage. We loved the idea that our wedding would feel like a big party yet also an intimate dinner party. The venue design, backdrop and natural lighting of the venue were definitely an added bonus.Being an Event designer and planner, I wanted to make sure our venue aligned with what I strive to get for my clients... Impeccable service, delicious food, stunning location and I can honestly say that Battello was all of that and more. Before the wedding we came into Battello for dinner with friends, family and even a few date nights and every time we felt so welcomed by the entire team. Tammy specifically came out of her way to say hi every single time.Dominique, the event coordinator is an angel! She was so helpful and open from the start. It was so important to me to have a great relationship with our coordinator as I know how important her role plays in the overall event. We could not have imagined how seamless the experience would be with Dominique. No matter the question, she always replied quickly and with helpful information. I will miss working with her!Tammy, our bridal attendant was amazing and the most helpful! I have personally worked at so many venues and I have never seen a more accommodating bridal attendant. Every time I turned; she was there with a smile on her face happy to help with whatever we needed. She bustled my dress in minutes and help me remove my vail without misplacing a single hair.We got married this past August and we have not stopped hearing how “this was the best wedding we have every been to”. Guests of all ages have been raving about how insane the cocktail hour was, how amazing the service was and how beautiful the location is. The attention to detail from the entire Battello team is something you will not find anywhere else. There was not an ounce of stress on us knowing that we had Battello’s team handling our wedding day.I will be telling everyone I know to get married at Battello, just so we can celebrate there again. We are looking forward to going back to Battello with our family, friend and future family.*Photos by Aletiza Photo*"

"I'll get right to the point with my feedback from our experience in Earl?s. 1. Service: Our waitress was very nice, but oh so slow. We were not sure if she or the kitchen was in the weed, but she seemed to be stressed all the time. We could say it wasn't her day. Surely we weren't the simplest table. We had two young children (6 and 2) and some visitors from the country did not speak English at the table. I know it can be hard to deal with a table like this, but I will give the service a 3/10. 2nd time: It was ridiculously slow. At first they took about 10 minutes to set up a table for us, although the place was not very close. We had 4 adults and 2 children to be a big production. Worse, the kids? The food took forever. They were hungry and cranky. After they got their food, the adults waited another 15 20 minutes before we were fed. Everything was just incredibly slow. From the time we went to the restaurant, it was probably 45 minutes until we had lunch. We ordered simple things like burgers and salads and pasta. Nothing should have taken so long. Very slow. 1/10. Food: she was delicious. Burgers were good. I refused the sweet pimple relish and I missed a good tomato and some salad, but that didn't come along. The fries were burned and chewed. I don't know how they could send this to the table. We have real French fries and not the Steak fries. My husband ate a salad. He said the chicken was dry and hard to eat. My brother ordered Rigatoni, it didn't come with any sauce. I hope they just forgot because it would be worse if that's the record they wanted to serve. No sauce? Something was missing on the plate. 5/10. Price: it is not very expensive, but you can definitely eat better with what you pay. I'm sorry! I hope you improve service, time and food. I don't usually reviews, but this time it felt very necessary."
