"I would call the food inspector on this place ASAP. As we were finishing our meal, a rat ran towards us under our table. My husband and I jumped from our seats in terror with our feet off the floor on to the booths. When the waiter heard me scream he asked if everything was ok... when I told him that a rat had ran underneath our table he had no emotion, no concern and had no sense of urgency to bring the manager over- he basically shrugged it off. We were unable to put our feet down because the creature was hiding beneath our table. As we were flagging for help and for someone to bring the check, we had to painfully wait another 10 minutes for the manager to finally come to “apologize” she said that the back kitchen door must’ve been left open and that’s how the rat got in. They were slow to present our bill, which we quickly paid and ran out. I will never ever go back to this establishment again."

"No matter when you visit this restaurant, it feels like you're on a tropical vacation. The music is great, the menu is fresh, and the drinks are always on point. They even won an award a few years ago for their mango mojitos, which are dangerously delicious. My personal favorite is the grouper with basil pesto sauce, but many of my friends rave about the Lobster gratin served in the shell. Don't miss out on the crab dip appetizer, and you have to try their dessert, HOT MONKEY LOVE (vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and a banana). Overall, this place is a gem."

"A must for any trip to the UWS. Food is really good, the decore and atmosphere is really cozy and neighborhoodie; all with a touch of a parisian feel (been to Paris only once, so take that last piece as you want). We've had the pancakes, eggs w bacon, burger (superb), croissant, coffee and juice. Very tasty, filling, and fair prices."

"I've been in a la for many years. it seems there were some changes in the menu, but not drastic. what they did, it was up to those who loved most people for years and updated it a little. one of my favorites has always been their spinach salad. the change was, however, to replace the mushroom slices with chicken slices. Luckily, the dressing is great and blots out all the problems. (ask for extra dressing on the side. in this case it was the tasteless, dry huh. next time I'll ask if I can get the mushrooms instead. I hope they have not changed their big la frite burger. by the way, it was lunch. their dinners are also good."

"We had been going there since it opened because it 's close to our house and liked it. I got a very good pizza and it was close by. I learned about the new menu online. It looked very good. What happened, apparently four weeks ago, is positively transformational at this place. A new French menu that is the best ever in our area was put into place. OMG! Food and service that is beyond spectacular. It was my wife, daughter and me and we kept staring at each other going, Is this the same place where we got some pizza and wine? Seriously? Yes, the prices are higher, but so is the level of the choices, food and service. Totally worth it. This is a gem in Granger. Total jewel. Paul the waiter was very appropriately attentive. Again, this place has gone 180 degrees. I admire a turnaround. This is a big one. The success of what they 're doing will be legendary."

"This was my first visit to Lucie, and I loved the food! All of their pasta is homemade, which is awesome. The cocktail list could use a little more depth, but our drinks were good. Honestly my only issue was that we had some of the worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The waiter took forever to come back to our table, and we often had to flag other staff members to get him. He also acted like our table of was a huge pain. At the end he said he worked behind the bar most nights and wasn’t used to waiting tables but had to as someone called out. This is not an excuse for how bad he was. Because the food was so good, I’d go back once more in hopes of getting better service. I know it’s a new restaurant, but management should really work to ensure others don’t have this same experience as it could make others not want to visit again"

"I've tried it 3 times because friends have said good things about it. Well 3 strikes and it's out. How can you cover a very small strip steak (maybe 6 oz) in watery gravy, over cook the heck out of it and charge Flemings or Ruth's Criss prices. Our dinner for 5 ran over $350 without deserts. Started with their Beignets as the waitress suggested, bland and tasteless. The steak was a bad joke and everything from the bar was incredibly over-priced. Their wine prices are laughable. I just don't understand it's popularity at all."

"Our dinner was quite nice at the steak house. And true enough, we ordered steak. They had an amazing collection of wines that pair quite well with the steaks. We ordered the shrimp appetizer, and they were kind enough to have 4 on the plate instead of 3 pieces. I guess my only grouse, had I to find one, they didn't leave a bread basket on the table and I had to keep asking for it, but the bread was just amazing! Wow! Parking: There is a valet service, and a few blocks south is a parking garage"

"We have had Cooks Soldiers on our list for forever and we finally went last night. The food is spectacular! The seafood and the meats were all cooked to perfection. The homemade mountain bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Each dish had incredible flavor that made you want to keep trying different dishes. Our server Alex did a great job taking care of us and had great suggestions for us while we searched the menu. If you want to go to a place that can wow you, then Cooks Soldiers is the place."

"Perfect evening to sit outside and enjoy the weather with good friends. By far the mozzarella was my favorite part of the meal. So fresh, soft and topped off with a drizzle of EVOO. I could have just eaten that for dinner and been completely satisfied. The marinaded garlic with the red peppers paired so well with the mozzarella. The bolognese was a bit heavy on sauce and meat in ratio to the amount of pasta, but the pasta was homemade. Tuna tartare was fantastic! The cucumber slices and avocado on the bottom added freshness and cleansed the palate. Salmon was cook perfected, but a heavy meal. Between the buttery sauce and mashed potatoes, it was instant food coma. The four of us shared tiramisu, creme brûlée and sorbet. All three were very good. Overall a very good meal, but heavy. Beer selection could use some work. I realize their specialty is wine, as a wine bar, but for folks who don't drink wine, a small offering of five, well crafted beers would be nice."
