"I had fish chips. A bit greasy but OK. My friend had a salad (no complaints) but I didn't ask what he thought of it. We both enjoyed the clam chowder very much. Waiter described their special burger that sounded great but we were there for fish. There weren't many diners when we went at lunch time so the waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable but also fun to talk with. BYO is always a plus to me. Very casual and spartan in atmosphere but who cares unless you're out to impress. Enough pluses to outweigh any minuses. I'd go back to test out the menu some more."

"I ordered the bacalhau assado. Unfortunately it lacked all flavor, which is hard to do with a salted cod dish. The sautéed onions and peppers over the fish were also very bland. The entire dish lacked seasoning and there was no garlic at all. Two of my other companions said the Portuguese Steak was just average. Very few round fries were given and again no garlic. The white rice was bland. My sister ordered the espetada madeirence but she said it was much better the last time she was there. I forget what my other sister ordered but she said it was only average. My sister's boyfriend ordered a pasta/seafood dish and he said it was very good. So one meal out of six was excellent. The food wasn't bad (except for the cod fish) but considering you folks are on the higher priced side it should be better."

"This is now called “Ain't Yo Moma's Kitchen”, and believe me if my mother cooked like this we would have dined out a lot. First, the help. The young lady was rude. Acted like we were interrupting her. The food, OMG was it bad! I had the baked chicken and dressing. The chicken was fall off the bone tender, it had absolutely no flavor. The dressing was so moist I thought I would have to drain it. I had the “geens” as a side, they were like eating green crate paper with no seasoning. Every ch … – show"

"Great food but dinner was a little ruined by how incredibly loud the place is. Tables are very close together and they have music pumping in, causing people to raise their voices to be heard. We had 3 very loud tables around us and my wife and I had to lean across the table and half yell, in order to hear. I'm not normally noise sensitive, but it was a relief to get out of there. It was like fine dining but with night club level noise"
