"I booked a booth for two 6 weeks prior to Valentine’s Day 2008 with a required credit card hold. Upon arrival at 7:30, we were promptly seated. Our 2 top table was in a line of about 7 tables with a side by side separation of about a scant 18”. A bit uncomfortable but tolerable. I asked about the confirmed booth request, which went unanswered. The décor was quite nice. At this time the restaurant was close to full with only a few open tables. It took about 5 minutes for someone to greet us and take a drink order at the table. My martini arrived about another 5 minutes later and was a good pour for 13. Wines were 98% California, however I found a French Chateau De Pez for 100 which was quite good despite its young age. We skipped an al a carte salad or starter and my wife ordered a 10oz filet mignon cooked to, medium with Béarnaise sauce. I ordered the tuna very rare with a side of Goose Fat Potatoes to share. After an incorrect unopened bottle of wine was sent back, and another martini we received our dinner about 30 minutes later. My tuna was cooked as ordered. My wife’s steak was burnt with a smell of charcoal and cooked beyond well done. There was no Béarnaise with the steak. It took me about 8 minutes to flag down any member of the wait staff. Finally, a porter stopped by to take my request. Within a few minutes, a manager arrived with the sauce, no apology. The meal was not sent back as it would have taken too long to have a replacement based on stretched out service staff. Our waiter arrived after we finished our meal at which time I informed him of the problems with the steak, he made a brief unanswered apology. No manager appeared. Dessert was fair and comped. The service was highly over taxed with scant manager presence. I left very disappointed after a total check with tax and gratuity of 240. Total steak disaster, very poor management, The Strip House of Naples is not ready for prime time."
