"It is always a good sign when you go to an ethnic restaurant and you see people of ethnicity eating this restaurant as the majority happy. This was the case with Hyderabad House, a small, illuminated Indian restaurant near Borders at University Avenue. It's quite small, so I wouldn't recommend bringing a big group, but for a casual dinner for two or four this place seems. It was a bit to wait for the food that was unexpected because you order the food before the register and then bring it out... but it is also a good sign that they actually make the food fresh, unlike just to sneak things out. You can enjoy a hot milky Chai tea as you wait and admire the landscape photography of India on the walls. The wind is driving and running out, but inside you feel like you are in a slighly exotic café. The majority of the diners when I was there were Indian men...this place she remembers the mother's kitchen? If you get the Chicken Tikka Masala, I recommend everything in the sauce. The basamati rice with which our dishes came was fragrant and fluffy. We even found a stick of cinnamon and bayonet buried in rice. A basamati mom would be proud. I like the rice and the naan always comes with the curries, so you don't have to order seperately and get a huge dish of rice that are either overwhelmed, wasted, or brought home and forgotten. The naan was chewing with a light taste of butter, a bit over charred at the edges, but nothing that a little tears with the fingers would not solve. I am certainly not an Indian food convenience, but if I were looking for hot tasteful foods that would satisfy any taste bud, this would be the place to go."
