"The Guacamole De Jaiba (guac w jumbo lump crab) was delicioso as were the margs. I felt like the Dinner Taco Platter for $17 was a pretty filling and standard meal and was very satisfied with the selection and taste. Felt like the atmosphere was slightly lacking but that could’ve been due to the general cold outside. Would try again in the summer when the waterfront and weather are more inviting for hopefully a more complete experience."

"First time at a Kalaveras and def coming back for more rounds! Now here’s my take on the prices for food and drinks. The food was delicious and service beyond and above. However, the food prices are okay for Mexican appetizers, and entrees. I don’t think it’s worth eating a $15-$25 dish if you’re already going to be spending $14 on cocktails. I really loved their rolled taquitos which was $14 something and their carne Asada quesadilla which was about the same price. As for their desserts I tried the churro and lava cake which was $14-$15 each. I don’t think their dessert is worth that much for something small that’s not meant to be shared unless if you have a small appetite. Other than the food being expensive I enjoyed their cocktails and the ambiance."

"Food was tasty, but honestly I've had better. Atmosphere is far too obscure and depressing. Yes I get there's a theme to the decor and paint but it's well known that food is far more appetizing when there's a brighter or lighter environment. Service is slow and not too friendly."

"I really enjoy going to Fonda for Happy Hour. They give you big portions for small prices. The guacamole is always consistently delicious and i absolutely in love with their chorizo quesadillas. Just talking about it makes me hungry for more. The selection of drinks for the happy hour menu is great as well. The only thing is the bar is super small and they only offer happy hour service at the bar, I would love for them to accommodate those that cannot find a seat at the bar."
