"Peace on Earth is the place to be in Unalakleet. I ate there 4 times in the week I was living in Unalakleet because I loved it so much. For starters, the atmosphere is great. It is colorful with a big mural painting on one wall. There is a big chalk board wall that has menu items and specials! There is some clutter in areas of the store, but nothing that gets in your way. There are big tables that encourage meeting other parties if it is crowded, but they still give you enough room to have comfort space. I got a hamburger, the maui waui, and then twice I got the Stevie but instead of cheese, I got it with pineapple (the Maui Waui and Stevie are sandwiches . Each item I got with fries. For starters, the fries are thin, crispy, and always hot. They were delicious! The maui maui was a sandwich that had chicken, pineapple, and herbs and spices. And the Stevie was a sandwich with marinara sauce, delicious Italian sausage, fresh mushrooms, and then it was supposed to be on garlic bread and have cheese, but instead of that, I added pineapple (I highly recommend adding pineapple to yours too! The Stevie was also my sneaky way at satisfying my pizza craving without breaking my wallet. I cannot get over the fact that pizza in the Norton Sound area is around 30$ for a small. The sandwiches (with fries were 15, and since the Stevie had the pizza sauce on it, you got that pizza taste for half the price! The other review mentions a Larry, but when I was there, the people in charge were a super wonderful couple, Bret and Davida. Since I have a milk allergy, eating out can be really tough. Bret gained Peace on Earth a billion yelp starts if that were possible due to his willingness to be incredibly accommodating for my food allergy. He even made me fresh dough for my sandwiches all week since they normally put milk in their dough! I felt super comfortable eating here, knowing that Bret was watching the ingredients like a hawk. They were also such nice people and ended up being good friends with me by the end of my week there! The only negative I have to say is that service can be sloooooow. Some days, I waited 60-90 minutes to get my food (the last day was just 20 . Since it is such a popular spot, there can be a lot of orders ahead of yours. So just be expecting it might take awhile, but I decided such is the Unalakleet way. No one is in a hurry in this village which adds to its charm."
