"Had dinner here on a Sunday evening a few weeks ago. Service was okay and the food was fine, but it was not up to what they charged for it. The charcuterie board came out with maybe half an ounce of each cheese and about the same for the meats, a terrible choice given the price. The Brussels sprouts and Mac and Cheese were both good, especially the latter. Scallops were also good as a main, but my burger was overcooked, incredibly dry, and a real disappointment. Asked for fried to be crispy and they were soggy and limp. While that have a huge beer selection, they had no pilsners, lagers, or basic ales to choose from, but the waiter was able to recommend a pale ale that wasn't overly happy or bitter. If you're not a craft beer junkie, there's very little to choose for drinks. The cocktail menu falls prey to the need to be special and unique, ruining most classics in the process as they strive to differentiate themselves from everyone else. Make great classic cocktails and you don't need to be special; they're classics for good reason whatever you add to them detracts from their innate greatness. The attempt to sell the cellar as historic because it is the oldest building in Charlotte, or whatever the lecture given by the waiter, along with noting that some musicians had played the space decades ago, didn't actually add anything to the experience. It all felt pretentious and a bit arrogant without having any substance to back it up. The $200 bill was far too much for what was given by the establishment and I'd caution anyone against eating here."
