"The restaurant has changed hands and the food has gotten 1000 times better. Before my last visit 2 weeks ago, I hadn't been there for 2 years. The food had gone down hill but now it seems to have recovered. I ordered the General's Chicken Combo Plate which I know is not the healthiest dish but it is addictive. The platter came with an egg roll and fried rice. Unlike some other places I've patronized recently, the chicken was fresh and crispy and the sauce covered the chicken chunks without being watery like the others I've tried around South Street. The flavors were bright and alive, salty and sweet...just perfect. The fried rice tasted like it used to when I would go to China Town years ago. That special pork fried rice flavor that's hard to describe and hard to find nowadays. The portion was huge! Enough for 2 people but somehow I couldn't stop eating until it was gone. All this amazingness in a combo plate! The ambiance was another story. The place looks like a warehouse. For some reason, they have removed all of the decorations from the previous owners and haven't replaced them. It's just an open, empty space with a few tables, nothing on the walls, boxes everywhere, and food storage right there where you eat. It looks as though they were not expecting customers to ever eat in. Judging by the number of phone calls received while I was there, they seem to do a great take out and delivery business. I was the only eat in customer there for both of my recent visits. The wait person seemed shocked when I sat down and her service was not very professional. It seemed like it was her first time waiting on a customer. If you go, prepare to feel weird if you sit at a table but get ready for a delicious meal."

"I went to jack chen ii after having spent the day at six flags new england. I found it on my happy cow app. there are not many vegan options in the opposite, it was late and we starve. it is a tiny bit of space to take and not a restaurant with sitting, waiter or alcoholic drinks. we ate our eating on polystyrene plates with plastic forks. I am vegan and the first thing I noticed was that the owner (who took my order) did not know what was vegan. Although it is true that they have a lot of fake meat, there is no way to check that they are actually vegan I personally do not trust to go back enough and I would not go back. we ordered something to eat in the restaurant and it was ok. definitiw oily, unhealthy, as I said, I am not convinced that it was vegan, even after the conversation with the owner about what I needed (no chicken meat, eggs, fish sauce etc.) we were really hungry for six flags, so we ordered a vegetable frying rice I gave them only 2 stars because the portions were large, they have at least since then soy protein and most places have not, so maybe they try? I do not recommend this restaurant and I would recommend finding something else to eat. I will not eat the rest I hate. the worst part of my experience came when I wanted to use the bathroom. I wish I never asked. the bathroom was dirty the sink was filled with dingen and unusable. I had to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom that was a vegan nightmare. I do not exaggerate when I say that there are huge buckets filled with blood meat long **** gloves around the whole place. I felt like it was something that they would see in a slaughterhouse, and it totally turned around and made me wish I never had eaten there. I felt sick. I don't know why they were so bad, but I didn't have to see it. this is definitiw no vegan friendly establishment."
