"This review is for a dinner date experience. I was a bit apprehensive after reading reviews on yelp, but decided to give it a go for a lack of better options while passing through. My date ordered the Statler Chicken, with the side of mushrooms, and I ordered the NY Strip, with a side of Broccolini. We also requested bread for the table, which ended up being delicious, and was served with olive oil and vinaigrette. I also ordered a Pinot Noir, and my date ordered a Moscow Mule. To start, I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They were all very kind, and incredibly attentive and accommodating. More pleasant than I've experienced in a while, including at places where the bill will run $400+ per head before beverages. 10/5. Drinks; the Mule was well balanced, though not served in a traditional copper cup. The Pinot was also good, and fairly priced at $11/glass. 4/5. Sides; the broccolini was delicious, grilled perfectly and nicely seasoned. However I would say it was a bit too oily still. The mushrooms were great, excellent flavor and cooked well. 4/5. Mains; the chicken was impressive for $30. Cooked just right, great flavor, and the bread pudding paired with the butternut squash puree was a nice touch. The NY Strip was overall solid, not the best I've had but not at all lacking, especially for $42. 5/5. Overall I'm giving this place a 5 star review for the service experience and quality of food for the price. Would definitely stop by again!"

"After reading about Baita, I decided to take my husband for his birthday lunch. He loves raclette, and we have dined at Eataly numerous times in the past. When we arrived, no one was aware that they even took reservations for Baita, but it wasn’t a problem because there was no one there—plenty of tables. Our server treated us as though we were interrupting his day. He was not welcoming in the slightest. He didn’t ask us how we were, if we would like to start with drinks—he just kind of stood there and let us order. He never checked in on us to ask how the food was (mediocre at best—$30 for raclette and I would expect a slightly more inspired plating , he never asked if we wanted more drinks, or water, if my son needed a cup or anything at all. The support staff was nice, but our server made a lame experience downright irritating with his rude attitude and downright lack of service (which seemed purposeful-why? Was it because we were the only table of color and not old rich white ladies? . Between us, my husband and I have over 20 years experience in the service industry and we have excused all kinds of off service. But, this experience was inexcusable. To top it all off, the fish counter seemed to be deep cleaning and using an incredibly noxious cleaner to do so—why would you do this while people are sitting 15 feet away dining? The smell was disgusting. We will not be dining or shopping at eataly again."
