"Biggest tacos throughout the south... also the chicken quesadilla ive had never had a quesadilla like it somewhere... my absolute favorite though is they have lamb tacos and idk elsewhere that it has... and if somewhere else I very doubted his as fresh as this place... once I had the lamb taco from here was addicted... I already loved to begin their tacos, but I tried the lamb and Ohhhh man AMAZING also the fish taco with cabbage . GREAT ....definitly my favorite Mexican place in the Chicago area .... the service is also excellent ... very nice very friendly staff and man I have to give it the babe here they really know what they do ... I come twice in the week atleast and had not 1 problem and always smile"

"This used to be an awesome restaurant but lately it has just been horrible. Servers are rude management is out of touch and dismissive. After eating we decided to just go to the bar for a drink since the service was so poor and there was no bartender. A couple had been sitting there for a while and still haven't got a drink. One of the worst experiences I've had here and I doubt we'll be back."

"My husband and I recently came across Pepe's Mexican restaurant. We've had dinner twice on Friday evenings. The place was clean, the servers were friendly and offered suggestions on meals and drinks. The wait time is reasonable and prices are fair for the portion sizes. I will say if you are used to delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine, stay away from the Americanized yellow cheesy meals and cheap tequila for your margaritas. (If it's dripping with yellow cheese, it's not real Mexican food. We liked their chicken mole and tostadas. We don't care for very sweet margaritas but their strawberries were fresh in the margarita with Patron tequila. We didn't like the Oaxacan (Mayan tamales, they were too dry for us but others may like them just fine. We would stop in again and try out other dishes and drinks. They have happy hour on Thursdays with discounted drinks."

"The first Mexican restaurant that really feels exotic. The food taste like I've never tasted before, it's very different from other Mexican restaurant. The the service was stellar; the server was attentive, knowledgeable and suggest what's popular when you ask for it. The atmosphere is what really got me, unlike other restaurant, it feels foreign. They have museum grade displays and at the same time a festive ambiance."

"I haven't been here in years, and it used to be super good!!! Today was unbelievably disappointing. Took 20 minutes to get a glass of water (the wires was alone there, but there was only our table and one other). We ordered chips salsa queso to start... salsa has no flavor what so ever, and no spicyness, and the queso was just cheese sauce from a can, 4 ounces, and 9 bucks!!!! Just not the same unfortunately. Also, it was $65 for that and a few beers!!!"

"We hadn't been to LM since before COVID. We had forgoten how good this restaursnt is overall. We ordered the parrillada for 2 and let's just say it was enough food for 4 people (see pic). The chicken was tender, juicy, well seasoned and tasty. The beefskirt steak was very good, again well seasoned and fresh. We were very surprised by the amount of medium size shrimp the dishhad. The shrimp was cooked as it should be, not over done and the seasoning used was on point, lemony and garlicky. There wasalso shredded pork with pinaple on this dish. We could have done without the pork just because we don't like savery with sweet.Plenty of grilled bell peppers and onions were used. All of this came with a big serving of rice and beans (see pic). The mealstarted out with complimentary sevicha and tostdadas which was good. We had to have beer and margaritas to help us savor thiswonderful meal (see pic). The atmosphere was very festive and friendly. They had a 8 person Mariachi band playing. The musicwas very authentic and enjoyable. We wouldn't mind hiring this band for a special occasion. In fact, we stayed much longer thanwe planned just to listen to the music. Our waiter Omar was fantastic. He was friendly, helpful, outgoing and very attentive.Event hough LM was full the whole time we were there and Omar had a couple of large tables we were never lacking for anything.Every time we were about to look for him to order something esle, he showed up out of nowhere, almost like he was reading ourminds. "We enjoyed a delicious and enjoyable dinner of Mexican food at La Casa De Samuel. They have some interesting menu items including Iguana, goat, and bull's testicles. We found that Iguana is a bony meat that tastes a bit like chicken but with an interesting zip that's difficult to describe. We also enjoyed their Guacamole, Tacos, Fajitas and Fried Ice Cream. My favorite item was their fresh handmade Tortillas. You can see them being made on site. I haven't had Tortillas this fresh so can't really compare but these were definitely the best I've ever had. We also enjoyed their Micheladas, a citrusy alcoholic drink served in attractive clay mugs. Plenty of nearby paid street parking available."
