"I revisited a small hidden gem near my hometown of Clearwater in Largo, FL and decided to take my mother there for lunch. She loves Mediterranean style food, so I chose this cafe for our meal. Upon arrival, we were not welcomed as warmly as I had hoped, so we seated ourselves. Despite the less than enthusiastic greeting, I preferred to focus on the positives. One of those positives was our server, Chris, who was friendly and knowledgeable about their wine selection. When I requested a malbec, Chris brought out a smooth and silky South African Malbec from the wine cellar. The atmosphere of the cafe was quaint and romantic, perfect for a date night or outing with a loved one. My mother even enjoyed the laid-back vibe of the bar side. By the end of our meal, the owner, Sue, had warmed up a bit and even smiled and laughed. A smile goes a long way, Sue! The food at this cafe, including the tabbouleh, soup, and sandwiches, was excellent. I plan to visit again when I return to see my mother this summer.
