"Reserved the cabin for 10 on a Sunday night. There is no cover charge or anything to reserve the cabin. I believe you have to pay for curling, but none of us did that. We just sat in the cabin, drank, and ate. The waitress that night was awesome quick service and stopped by just the right amount to check on us. Food and drinks were a bit overpriced but that’s what you get when you’re in a fancy hotel downtown, so it was expected. I would go back, but only for special occasions or get togethers. The hotel seems really cool too."

"Had dinner here with my husband and we were very pleased! I had a special for an appetizer, I think they called it hamachi carpaccio. It was so delicious and fresh I wound up getting another one as my meal. I also had a bowl of their jambalaya which was a nice mix of spicy, meaty and hearty. My husband, who complains about nearly everything (love ya honey) had a platter of sashimi and loved it. He was nice enough to let me grab a couple pieces and I enjoyed it equally as well. Give the SitDown a go, you won’t be disappointed."

"The Maui Ribeye is delicious and the atmosphere is mellow. 3 stars because a restaurant that charges $50 for a steak and mashed potatoes should have better and faster service. Reservations should not be met with more than a couple minute wait. Not 15 minutes. If charging $15 for an old fashion, it should be a proper old fashion. J Alexander’s should look to Eddie V’s for advice on proper service and cocktails, if they are charging a similar price point."

"The restaurant manager reached out to me after my review on 1/21 to address the service and food issues. This time, our experience was much improved. Despite it being a busy Saturday evening, the service was significantly better. There were a couple of small hiccups, but the server was more attentive and we were satisfied. We ordered some of our favorite dishes, so the food was good and a good value as always. I must admit, the music was a bit odd, but it was a Saturday night and we were seated in the bar area so it was understandable. Overall, we left feeling taken care of and very pleased."

"Day or Night J. Alexander's does not disappoint Kat our waitress was on point…refilling drinks without asking, able to answer questions thoroughly, and attentive to removing used plates timely. Food is always A1, I recommend the ribs or the rotisserie chicken with not your ordinary mac and cheese and the new loaded mashed potatoes. If you've never been do yourself a favor and treat yourself OR treat someone else this Holiday Season."

"Not many options on the menu, but we tried the steak tacos and ribs, both dishes lacked smoke and flavor but the steak was not overcooked so I was okay. The mac n cheese was also pretty good but they were out of 2 types of liquor for their specialty drinks which was disapponting. "I had been turned off by a few people because I LOVE prime rib. I had just heard great things about the restaurant. Unfortunately the whole experience was disappointing for us. We had reserved at the open table and requested a stand. When we got there the hostess did not confirm our reservation when we told her we booked them online and still got us to a table. She was our waitress and was pretty good. The drinks were well made but small for the price. We ordered the prime rib. I got the girls cut and my husband got the kings cut which is about a $ 20 price difference. When they came out, they were exactly the smaller portion I ordered in length and thickness. We ordered medium rarity (which is what it came up with), but it had no flavor and was extremely tough. If there's one thing I love almost as much as prime rib, it's ranch dressing. It was chunky and tasted terrible. (and no, it wasn't blue cheese) To get our USD 100 bill at the end of our meal, we were both utterly disappointed with the entire meal. The quality did not reflect the cost."

"I would recommend J.Alexanders but not based on this experience. Here are the reasons why: We indicated on our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday but it was never acknowledged by the host or server. The service was slow and almost never saw our server when we did, he was not friendly at all. There was a problem with my ribeye being tough so I asked to exchange it with another one. The manager came out and explained understandably that if I got another ribeye, it would be cut from the same piece of beef so recommended I get something different. However, my new order must have been lost because my husband finished his meal and we still hadn't seen or heard from our server. Finally we asked another server to find our waiter. When he returned, we let him know that we had decided to not wait any longer for the new order. He never apologized for or acknowledged the poor service. He promptly brought the bill but we weren't thanked for our patience or patronage. Because we've dined here many times before, we know this is not a typical experience, but it will probably be a while before we are willing to try it again"
