"Actually ended up here by default because Nobel House was closed. And that change of plan ended up being a most pleasant surprise. Discovered this unassuming little place has some really delicious food. I mean not your run of the mill pub food butsuper flavorful specialty sandwiches (had grilled brie and pear Wow! Boyfriend had a burger which can only be described asmouth watering deliciousness. And their fries are seasoned and cooked to perfection, even good after they cooled off. Moral ofstory; don't judge a book by its cover its a small but mighty good Ale House!! Definitely going back to try their pork bellytacos which looked amazing too. Only problem I see here is deciding on what to order! Additional bonus is that the service wasalso good. We ate at the bar, and the bartender was super fun. Highly recommend giving this place a try, it's surprisinglydelicious ????"

"What can go wrong in an Irish Pub?. Great food and a good time here before catching a concert at The Black Cat. We had a couple of hours to kill so we walked over to Duffy's and had a few pitchers of brew and dinner.<br/ <br/ I had a bacon cheeseburger that came with Tot's instead of fries. There must have been a half of a bag of tot's on each of our plates. It was insane. The burger was large and delicious. Our server while not very talkative was friendly and efficient and keep the pitchers refilled as soon as we emptied one."

"Shannon is like Ireland without a 10 hour flight. Cosy Irish pub for 20 years in downtown Glen Ellyn. The homemade maize beef and chips are Fabuloucity. Our server Ashley was funny and her smile set the tone for a great afternoon/night. Add a Guinness and you have the recipe for Irish dishes. The menu is as extraordinary as the hand poured liberations."

"Cold, dreary day so we thought we'd head out for some comfort food. My husband is British and we both adore many dishes from the UK. Had the fish n chips (always a good bet) and the chicken rasher bacon boxty.(a new to me fave) On our last visit I had a boxty for the first time and had the Reuben one. So yummy! Very skimpy portions of ketchup and tartar sauce. We had to ask for more but we were nearly finished with the dish by the time we saw someone to ask for more. We opted for bread pudding since my husband is a big fan of bread pudding in general but I cannot recommend this one. It has a congealed look and texture and just did not hit the mark at all. A squirt of canned whipped cream didn't do anything to add to the experience. Bread pudding is so easy to make, not sure why this one was just so...well, odd. Service was great and the place was quite empty given the rainy day so I can't really speak to the ambiance other than it was a bit bright for a dinner service. We will visit again as it is in the neighborhood and gives us a taste of our happy place."

"We were quite hungry, and it seemed like everything was closed in town by 10:00. We needed to find a spot to feed the family that wasn't fast food. The iced tea was excellent, and we were pleasantly surprised by how good the burgers were – even better than Red Robin! The atmosphere was lively and fun. And those homemade French fries? Absolutely amazing! We’ll definitely be returning, especially since our little one enjoyed watching the karaoke on Thursday night."

"Not sure what went wrong, did a search for a specific NFL team 's bar... This is very clearly a Bears ' pub (not the team I searched for . But Lord love 'em, the staff and clientele were all very accommodating to us fans of the opposing team. *Edit once the food arrived: seriously decent grub, and service was above and beyond. "This place has won me back as a customer. Have been here for their weekend brunch, as well as lunch and dinner during the week. I do have to say that if you want to grab lunch here be prepared to have at least an hour and fifteen minutes blocked out. It seems like they only have one serve during lunch time so it makes getting your food a long wait. I love their Vegan Garlic Mushroom Swiss burger. Sometimes they have both the impossible and beyond burger patties and you can request which one you want. My non-vegan husband enjoyed a vegan burger. Vegan avocado rolls are delicious!"

I don’t know if it was a complement or an insult . Went to Maggie McGarrys instead. So if you’re like us and on holidays, avoid Chief Sullivan ."
