"I moved on to the appetizers and ordered shrimp, calamari, and Buffalo wings. The calamari was overcooked and inedible, but the shrimp was decent. Unfortunately, the wings were disappointing as well; they were overly breaded and drenched in too much sauce.
Still wanting to give this place a fair chance, I ordered a main course and another drink. Before I placed my order, the bartender—who was also serving tables along with another waiter who looked quite young—handed me a list of items they were out of, which included lamb chops and skirt steak, among others. I decided to go with the ribeye, requesting it cooked medium, along with veggies and mashed potatoes.
After about a 45-minute wait, the steak arrived and was cooked very well done, with about 85% fat. It was honestly the worst piece of steak I've ever had. I also ordered a frozen Casamigos margarita, which turned out to be disappointing as well.
In short, I had high hopes for this restaurant but left feeling extremely let down. As a strong supporter of Black-owned restaurants and lounges in Brooklyn, it's unfortunate that I won't be able to support this one. I definitely won't be returning."
