"Everytime I come I get a small amount of meat BUT when a MALE in my family gets food for us they get MORE. Such a shame cause I live so close by and walk by every single day.. for 16.70 for a small order and to add 1 n half so I was only going to get 2 oxtail...I had to pay Extra for ONE OXTAIL AND A HALF. Why is this? Also when asking to pay for more then the one n half oxtail they told me NO cause another customer already called meanwhile there was about 2 oxtail left in"

"I went to this restaurant yesterday evening, after arriving in town. I brought small stew chicken, small jerk chicken, three chicken patties and large oxtail(which I believe was not even oxtail)... I PAID 67.60.... 1st impression they didn 't greet us at all( there was a young women and an older man at the register) After about 5mins we were acknowledged. I ordered the food and waited for my food. We ate the chicken patties while waiting for the other food( they were okay). I heard another customer mention the large oxtail and you only recieve 5 pieces with the orde said she will never order that again. The cost of a large oxtail is $26! When my food came out I checked, there was only 5 oxtails FOR $26!!! The food was cold/warm like they tried to microwave it. I asked the young woman why does a large order only come with only 5 oxtails, she replied I don 't know what that has to do with me I dont make the plates . I asked her if she could get someone who knew.... She then went in the back to grab the older man(from earlier). This made it no better because he was so dismissive of my issue( there was not type of customer service). The older man just stated you only get five and walked off.... So I then asked the girl if I could have a refund, she stated no. So I asked for someone else. The owner came out and told me the price is because oxtail cost went up and he gets his seasonings from Jamaica..... He ended up giving me three extra oxtails(neck bones)...He said he has the best food out there and I would see it is worth the cost once I taste food. I was extremely disappointed ?.... oxtail, stew and jerky was nasty, not authentic at all. I 've eaten at over 30 Jamaican restaurants and this by far was the 2nd worst...... Overall food is over priced, customer service is a 0, and definitely not worth a visit! Don 't spend your money where it 's not appreciated and your pockets are being taken advantage of! If I could give a zero I would have!"

"Im not going to do them too bad because I was only in town visiting and I believe this is the only Caribbean spot in town but baby it was a disappointment. I ordered a beef patty and Brown stew Chicken meal. The patty was definitely not a real beef patty. It had no flakes and everybody know jamaican patties have you covered when you eat them. Then my food. First of all Jamaicans LOVEEEE GRAVY!!! My Brown stew meal had NO gravy at all in it. The rice and peas had no flavor at all and the cabbage had no seasoning. They can't have a Yardie in that kitchen cooking all that blan food. Yall gots to do better!"

"BEST JAMAICAN FOOD I’VE HAD IN ATLANTA GEORGIA . I tried literally several things in 2 days and everything was AMAZING. The curry goat is always on point , the jerk chicken is succulent and taste like actual jerk chicken, the meat itself was a little fresh but when the sauce is added, it’s a whole different ball game. The ackee and Saltfish was really good with the plain rice. Their fritters and dumplings 5/5 and the cornmeal porridge 100/10. Gordon Spice is taking all my money. 100% satisfied as a customer and a foodie."

"We were in Virginia Beach meeting up with family and friends down on the beach born and raised in Jamaica who wanted to eat some good Jamaican food. We located this restuarant and it was above our expectation. Great presentation, friendly and attentive staff, a very clean restaurant. The food was well prepared and delicious you won't be disappointed well worth eating there. Our entire party was satisfied with their meals and experience. Highly recommended!!!!"

"I'm always trying to find some hidden gem jamaica food spots in Brooklyn each time I visit and came across this restaurant. I took one look at the pics on google maps and I could tell it was authentic Jamaican food( if you're are Jamaican you know what I'm talking about). I most definitely wasn't disappointed, we certainly enjoyed the food. The Curry goat was tender, flavorful and well seasoned, the fried chicken slightly dry but still good though. Rice n peas was shelly and moist, which is a must. Also, they are very affordable and you'll get your money's worth. You can't beat the portion size for the price."

"If your going to serve Caribbean food get a Caribbean cook. Add a vegetable to your dinners, don't just drop meat on rice. Curry needs a starch to thicken. Add some potato. Curry Chicken was floating in curry water no sign of any onion, peppers or even a carrot to add flavor. Definitely not worth the price! I'll have to make my trips to Richmond Hill for good home cooking."

"I ordered Jerk Chicken in Spicy Jerk Sauce, Mac Cheese, Plantain, Steam Cabbage, Rice Peas, Chicken Shrimp Rasta Pasta in Stew Chicken sauce, Spicy Beef patty, Mild beef patty, and it was all fantastic. I also ordered 1 each of every D G Jamaican soda, Tropical Rhythm drink, and Ting, 10 different drinks, and they were all in stock, which was nice no repeats. I ordered a lot of food because it was for today, tomorrow, the day after... The food stands up very well to reheating in the regular oven. I'm very very very happy with Island Foodie and will order again."

"My sister-in-law loved her large Oxtail meal. My brother enjoyed his Large Brown Stew Fish and salad. My father enjoyed the Large Steam Fish, but he didnt receive his rice. I made it a point to ask if everything was in there and was told yes. When we arrived home, the rice was missing. Unfortunately, I couldnt return to pick it up. I spoke on the phone with Julit who was very apologetic. She advised that the next time I order that I should put it in the notes about the missing rice and they will give it to me. Everything Ive ordered so far for myself, family, or friends has been very tasty."
