"Found this jewel during the exploration of seafood for my Cali visit. The atmosphere is beautiful, I personally like places where you can see in the kitchen. If I'm looking for seafood, there's nothing wrong with a place where people can grab live crabs from a tank to cook. It adds the vibe! My wife and I shared a side salad, three chowder samplers, a dozen oysters and a seafood cook. Yeah, we were hungry. But honestly, the parts were not huge. You could argue that it is expensive for the portion sizes, but we were satisfied. All the oysters of the cooking range were delicious. I also enjoyed the Chowder, but Rhode Island was definitely my favorite! The seafood cook was great, but probably better suited for a person. There was only one piece of lobster and shrimp. The rest was full of shells, muscles and potatoes. The service was satisfactory and everything came out to a reasonable cadence. I would come back if I ever stayed in the area!"

"Delicious food, gorgeous ambiance, wonderful service. Was entirely as wonderful as I expected! Will definitely return! Loved the melt-in-your-mouth coq au vin for dinner and then the fresh-baked petit madeleines for dessert. Lots of table seating, also a nice bar section!"

"This is our second time here the first was a pleasant surprise so we were curious to see if our perspective would hold up. It did!!! Everything was wonderful, from the pre-dinner drink at the bar (terrific bartender attentive and nice without being intrusive) to the starters through the entrees. We were too full for dessert but they looked delicious as well. Our server was wonderful, as was the entire staff. Quickly becoming one of our favorites!"

"I had a high opinion of Bar Boulud but on Valentine's Day I lost that opinion. I have dined here before and in three of the group’s restaurants in NYC. I have several of Mr. Boulud’s books and I cook from them. This Valentine’s Day was a total disappointment. My wife and I changed three tables until we were seated in a quiet and not frigid part of the room. The menu price was very expensive for a place with no tablecloths and mediocre service by waiters who could not speak English clearly to understand what they were telling you. I know the lack of tablecloths and I knew the price, but I had high hopes for the service and, especially, for the meal. The served food was fancifully presented. However, good packaging does not make the food great. My lobster risotto was prepared hours before, was overcooked and the lobster was mostly small pieces that were lost inside the mussy risotto. I cook risotto myself for 20 years and I have visited Italy extensively where even a neighborhood restaurant will cook the risotto when you order it. This is the reason the menu tells you that you have to wait 20 minutes. Apparently in Mr. Boulud’s Boston bar/“restaurant” the risotto is made in the morning and heated in the microwave before it is served. The Dover sole my wife ordered was three very dry small pieces of fish that occupied only 10% of the plate’s area, the rest occupied by fanciful pre-prepared side actors while the mail actor, the fish, was a disappointment. A menu designed to be prepared and presented even by untrained people to control costs. What a disappointment for such a special day."

"Still think Keen's is better. Nothing truly special about the visit. Classic NY cut steak with a low-lit ambiance. Again, all pretty typical. Would return if I'm in the area, otherwise it was a solid worth it for a single visit."

"Bristol's Oyster Bar is not your usual bar. You'll notice as soon as you go in. From the host (which is sometimes the owner Peter) to waiting staff, shovels, cooks and bartenders. You are an amazing group of people, no matter where you sit, but for me the best place is the bar. They have never lacked entertainment and a front seat view of the delicious selection of fresh oysters, small bottlenecks and lobsters. What is not present at the raw bar is prepared in the open kitchen. Although the whole staff is great, I have some favorites, including Mike, Scott and Ben. He took our drink order and never again it was necessary to order. Once he came in, the drink was at the bar. I don't promise everyone, but hospitality is there for new and old customers. you will love it!"

"If you want ridiculous little portions that are overpriced, this is the place! Fish Entrees are close to $40.00 and about four bites in total. Wedge salad had about three leaves for $10.00, and Dessert was two bites for the same. The seafood risotto of my husband was the size of an English muffin for $38.00. Very disappointed because the food wasn't even so good. No wonder place was empty on a Saturday night."

"A perfect service and food was great! Happy Hour menu was pretty good, we tried the mini-fish tacos, mini-Clam Chowder and Calamari. Would definitely recommend the fish tacos and mussels. Calamari was all right not to scream. We also got the brussel sprouts that perfectly seasoned, not too sweet. Only a small chip of lobster found in our lobster Mac cheese. That said it tastes pretty good, not too cheesy or heavy. Supplementary mini chocolate pudding to finish the meal. Overall, really good ambience and value. Very recommended to book. If there are no available spots online, you could still try to get a table because the place is quite huge."

"A lovely fish restaurant in the East side of Manhattan, where multiple choice of fish will delight either your lunch, dinner or even better happy hour. The quality is outstanding as well as the staff, always able to help and accommodate any request. Oyster, shrimps, calamari and many other will make your decision time very difficult. You can sit outside on a warm sunny day, the atmosphere inside is even warmer, where you will be able to see your food being prepared. An excellent fish restaurant highly recommended."
