"I ate at Dickie Brennan’s in New Orleans on 06/19/2018. We had a party of six and arrived around 7:00 pm. We realized upon arrival that we were a little under dress, but the hostesses assured us that it was no big deal. We hadn’t made a reservation, but we only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Before seating us they asked if it was okay for us to be seated in the bar. We had a young child with us so we appreciated them asking before just seating us in the bar. Within two or three minutes of being seated the waiter came to take out drink order. I was surprised to find out they did not sell sweet tea, but I was politely offered unsweetened tea. Our drinks came out quickly along with warm and crisp French bread. We ordered a small New York strip, a fourteen ounce ribeye, the petite filet, and the Grilled Gulf fish, along with a few sides. We waited no longer than thirty minutes for our food and in the meantime the wait staff made sure our drinks were full and asked if we wanted more bread. The New York strip was ordered medium and was a little rarer than expected, but was still edible without having to send it back. The ribeye was ordered well-done and although a little crisp on the out side the steak was still perfectly juicy and tender. The petite filet was ordered medium-rare and was cooked to perfection. Each steak was topped with a garlic herb butter which added just enough flavor depth to make a melody in your mouth. The grilled gulf fish was fork tender and was served with vegetables, both were seasoned nicely. While eating we had four different people, including the head waiter, come by our table asking how our food was. It was upscale and the prices reflected that, however, it was well worth it considering the excellent service and food. We will definitely be eating here again."

"We have eaten here many times and enjoyed it but last night was a disaster (8/24). It was not busy, only a few tables Started off ordering a Makers Mark and water. It was delivered, I tasted it and it was NOT Makers Mark. Sent it back and found out from the waitress that the bartender took it upon themselves to put a house bourbon in my drink since they were out of MM.but still ring it up as Makers and water.hoping I wouldn’t notice. News flash..bourbon drinkers notice when you try to substitute house whiskey. Next our meal took a long time but we were in no rush. Waitress was great. I ordered grilled shrimp with rice for $20.they set my plate down and I was served 2 small shrimp on a wilted piece of lettuce with a TINY scoop of rice. It was ridiculous!!! I asked for the manager and it took her a while to come out. She blamed the food runner and said he spilled my plate???? Then why on earth would you let it come out of the kitchen like that and say NOTHING!!!! The manager told me they were “giving “ me 3 more shrimp??? My food was cold. Sent it back. The size of the chicken fried chicken was 1/2 the size that it used to be.the manager said there was now a large and small.the menu has 1 price and nowhere does it give a choice of small it large. It seems like they kept the $16 price but now only use 1/2 a chicken breast. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. In all fairness the manager gave us 1/2 off but it was still not happy. "Pricey, very pricey. Very limited and small menu with limited choices. Calamari were a bit undercooked. Not overly flavorful on their own, but the marinara was very good. I asked for tartar sauce but it did not taste at all Like tartar sauce but more of an aioli. Clam chowder was delicious and house made with huge pieces of clams. Wonderful. The mussels pot and the seafood medley pot were less stunning than described. No wine flavor whatsoever but it did have a little of a lemon flavor. The bay's seasoning was the most prevalent flavor and it was ok but not what should have been the star here. The seafood was all perfectly cooked despite it all. The seafood gumbo was bland and nondescript. I've had better at Cajun restaurants so stick to buying it there. The salads were best and fresh and the dressing were all some of the best flavored dressings we have had in a long time. The key lime pie was disappointing however, due to a preponderance of crust and graham cracker meal literally all over it. Too much crust and the pie was coated on top with it as well. As for the pie filling, it was too little and was more of an accent and not the primary flavor. The flavor was good however, and it would have been a much better dessert in the end if the filling took the prominence in the pie. Too bad. I do believe this restaurant needs some work on their menu selections and pricing per portion size if it is to be a must eat at location. Season and flavor needs to be a focus as well."
