"We booked this months ago, knowing the history of the restaurant and having eaten in a few Nobus and many other Japanese restaurants before so we were expecting something great and memorable! We were very surprised and, whilst it may sound harsh, underwhelmed and disappointed. We were seated outside, under a canopy/tent, in the extension of the restaurant. I stress 'outside ', with only two heaters for about 20 tables. It was freezing! We were very cold and the staff kindly moved us to a table closer to a heater, but it was still cold. The 'decor ' in the tent was almost non-existent and to say the least we felt overdressed. The atmosphere was good, with lots of other diners. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Food-wise: the chicken udon broth was delicious; the king crab fried rice was virtually tasteless and 50$?!; both the salmon teriyaki and black cod were tasty but all fish was overcooked, and thankfully the sushi was good, but not special. Overall... I appreciate the significance of the place and its history, but the food didn 't taste amazing, wasn 't special, was over-priced, and the whole set-up/dining environment was... uncomfortable! I feel it was a disservice to Chef Nobu 's talent and reputation!"
