"Highly recommend the sweetheart roll and try it without dunking it in soy sauce at least for the first piece, it is so delicious as is. : very few sushi places in AK offer unique raw rolls with scallops, which is a nice change from the tendency to stuff spicy tuna into every single roll at most other restaurants. I wished they had chirachi (my usual go to but once I tried a couple of their special rolls I was glad I had to get rolls instead!"

"I love Kanpai restaurant they're such a wonderful little locally owned restaurant that's one of the best Japanese comfort food spots in the DMV. Kanpai is best known for their fantastic lunch specials. When I worked in the neighborhood I would go over and get a wonderful katsu lunch plate for right around $10. But Kanpai is even better for dinner, and if Rosslyn was more active in the evenings I think Kanpai get the recognition it deserves. I love going to Kanpai in the evening and enjoying their really well curated list of noodle dish specials like nabeyaki udon and zaru soba depending on the season. You can even get handmade yaki onigiri that looks and tastes flawless. Any place that keeps a natto handroll on the menu cares about the details I don't even like natto and I still order it every time I go just on principle. Give Kanpai a chance to be more than a business lunch and you'll find a real neighborhood gem."
