The owner came over and spoke to us which made us feel at home. Food was incredible, highly recommend the French onion soup and pesto gnocchi. "Wow, our friends picked such a lovely place to eat breakfast! Food was SO delicious and the place was roomy. They are not stingy with servings and I left stuffed! If only this place was closer to home: This place is definitely a winner and is now on my breakfast favorites list. Look at these chunks of potatoes...deliciousness! My husband had the waffles and chorizo tacos. He left stuffed and happy as well: I almost forgot to mention their pastry counter; just wow. Mouth watering, big pieces of cake and other tempting to eat baked goods."

"I had only been to Jack's once a couple of years ago and I recall that I enjoyed the sandwich I had. This time I tried the fish and chips platter and was completely disappointed. The 3 cylindrical (how?! pieces of fish were burned and overcooked. As a matter of fact, they reminded me of my teenage years fast food job when we refried the chicken because no one bought it earlier in the day. So back into the deep fryer it went for the late afternoon customer. We were there at lunchtime so maybe they just burned it. There was a HUGE portion of fries with the entree but they were completely tasteless. The only decent aspect of the meal was the cole slaw. The service and the fact that there was adequate parking were the high points."

"We walked in and the hostess told us there were no tables available even though only one table in the entire restaurant was occupied and everything else was empty. We were given the option to sit at the bar or outside when it was raining hard. We sat at the bar but I felt like I had been cheated so I called the restaurant on my mobile phone from the bar and the hostess told me that the restaurant was open seating and that tables were available if I walked in and that they only accept reservations for parties of 5+. This made me feel very disappointed and I went up to her and asked her if she could sit us at a table to which she flatly told us no table is available even though I could see at least half the restaurant still had empty tables.By that time my partner had ordered the Tuscan white bean bacon and kale soup which was very watery and lacked flavor. We paid and left but won’t be returning to this place for sureThe city of Danville will not be getting my business anytime soon if ever!"

Our server @Sunshine was amazing… I was thinking to myself “Prosecco” and when she came to take my order, she asked if I would like to start with a Prosecco! . Yes, ma’am! "I 've been to Carter 's Landing a number of times since it opened. At the beginning, the service was fantastic with the staff being very energetic and going out of their way to make the experience wonderful. The menu was extensive and creative and the food was served hot and delicious. I went last Fall around Thanksgiving and was not at all impressed with the service. The place was very quiet with few diners. Rather than seat the guests in one of the dining areas the staff had us seated all over. With a small staff they couldn 't look after the guests properly. Service was extremely slow, food was delivered cold and was all around a very poor dining experience. I said I wouldn 't go back. Well, I was looking for a place for brunch and saw this available so decided to try it again. There was no mention of a buffet only and the website only showed a brunch menu. As my last visit, the service was horrible. We ordered coffee to begin and when it was brought about 5 or more minutes later, the server didn 't bring milk and cream, even after asking if we wanted those when we ordered the coffees. Then, a few minutes later she only brought 2 milks and 2 creamers. It was the same for our refills! The buffet at $22 a person was sparse. The 'kid ' making the omelets, crepes and waffles seemed well out of his element. Omelets were stuck to the pan, over cooked and only one at a time. Not much better on the crepes. The rest of the buffet, which consisted of 3 trays of hot items and a small table of cheese, fruit and deserts was not enough. Hot items were cold and uninspiring. It 's sad that Carter 's Landing seems to be so mismanaged because the location is absolutely perfect and begging for a place like this should be, but the bad management, poor service and lack of food quality is going to spell the end of this place which should be absolutely thriving! It 's sad actually!"

"Ordered take out. This place isn't bargain, drive thru cr@p, but worth the extra scratch. Ordered Pho and club sandwich with the house potato chips. Both were great and enough leftover for another lunch. We have also dined in and had to wait 20 minutes to get a table, totally worth the wait!Kid-friendliness: Lots of TVs with sports and several playing Red Bull TV with interesting video. Kid friendly for kids from 8 or 9 on up, little kids might get bored, but that's what mom's cell phone is for, right?"

"Our server was fantastic and very welcoming. When we arrived, they had just opened. We ordered coffee and breakfast entrees. I had the avocado toast and my husband had an egg dish with hash browns and toast. I really don’t know how they prepared the avocado mash for the toast, but nothing about it tasted like an avocado. I eat avocado and various types of avocado mash all the time, but this was not avocado! It was some sort of watery green stuff that tasted nothing like an avocado. My husband ordered the eggs and they also lacked any sort of flavor as well, and the hash browns were exactly like McDonalds hash browns served brick style, only these tasted like they had been deep fried five times in a row. The restaurant got very busy, very quickly after we arrive, so our server was quickly swamped with customers. We were hungry so we ate it, but never again. What a waste of $50!!!! Don’t go here unless you just want to sit and drink a beer. Food is no go for sure!"

"I will say our server did a tremendous job. He explained he was busy, but still took the time to give us a rundown of the company, the restaurant, and the food preparation. 5 stars to him. For the food itself, the wings were great. Cooked perfectly, and the molasses BBQ was awesome. The blackened salmon salad was underwhelming. A plate full of lettuce with a piece of over-cookee, under-seasoned salmon. Just wasn't worth it. Presentation on the Mac N Cheese was good, however, as blasphemous as it sounds, there was just too much cheese. A good thick sauce with a light melted topping would have been perfect. The pesto style drizzle on top also added a strange taste I wasn't a huge fan of. I'd like to go back and try their lamb burger at some point, as I've yet to see anything like it in town. So we'll see "

"I ordered the new Friday night Red Plate Special, consisting of Mustard Smoked Tri Tip, Mac n Cheese, and onion rings. The Mac n Cheese was good. The meat was mostly fat and gristle. It's as bad as their prime rib, which I would not eat even for free. Some of their meals are very good they clearly know how to deliver an appealing, tasty dish of food when they really want to, so I don't know what the problem is with these two selections. I recommend the pork chops, burgers, and prime rib French Dip melt. Why the sandwich s good when their regular prime rib selections King and Petite cuts are not is beyond me. The servers are generally very attentive and kind, but often over extended."

"The food was amazing. We went in with the after church diners. It was super busy but the food and drinks didn’t take long at all. We had a table of 7 and a baby. My son ordered a hamburger and he loved it. I loved the Gordita, it has chunks of avocado in it. I should’ve ordered some guacamole with it. Can’t have too much avo in a meal. The cocktail sauce the shrimp was in tasted amazing. I could’ve drank it. The steak tasted amazing. The rice had some vegetables in it which tasted good. My baby loved the rice and beans. I was so full when we left, i think our servers name was Roses, she’s very pretty, attentive and sweet. Made out dining experience an unforgettable one. We’ll definitely be back. Oh and the prices are very reasonable total check was under $100 including tip. Love it!!"

"I have been coming to this restaurant for 18 years, or so I think. The manager, Juan, is always great whenever he sees me. However, the quality of the bar has declined since Jake opened his own business. Tonight, I experienced the worst service I have ever had. The owner's grandson just wanders around, not doing much. The bartender gave double the chips to couples next to us, and my wife had to wait thirty minutes for her first drink. We finally placed our order after an hour of minimal service. Twenty minutes later, the bartender asked if the order was ours, but we had not even placed it yet. We asked for the check and decided we had enough of the poor service. It's disappointing, as most of my friends knew how much I enjoyed coming here. Despite Juan being a great manager, the rest of the staff should not be in the business. Sadly, after years of support, I have decided not to return."
