"Well last I went to Penny's noodles shop was so long ago when they used to be in Wicker Park which became another decent Asian fusion restaurant called Urban Belly but not as good as Penny Noodles. I was on a budget again and wanted to try something different in Oak Park, IL. I started with Thai Iced tea and now wanted to eat pork lard bar and thick pan fried noodle dish. I had forgotten that this was a Thai restaurant but nevertheless I love Thai cuisine. Was not expensive. $9 for pork lard nar and $3.50 I think for Thai Iced Tea which was very unique ly sweet compared to other Thai Iced teas I've had I think this was the best one! About to eat there lard nar which is also unique delicious because the pan fried noodles they use is like chewing in a Hallow crunchy, toasty noodle than your traditional lard nar that doesn't taste that way. It is a unique experience that I forgotten but had now remembered why I like coming here before they left Chicago wicker Park to move out to Oak Park Illinois. The lard nar noodles is more of a preference some people might not like the toasty noodles textured but I like it. I would suggest people to come try Penny's noodles if they're around Oak Park"

"Food is fine. Prices are absolutely outrageous. I got 2 vegetarian entrees and it cost me $38.90. Why should anyone have to pay that? Particularly considering there was no meat whatsoever. I asked to talk to a manager or owner and was told they're hardly ever there, maybe once per week. This place USED TO BE great. I could bring my whole family and pay about $50. Now, taking just my son is almost $40. An incredible rip off and, apparently, no one available to talk to an upset customer. What a joke! There's another Thai place in Plymouth, about a 2 minute walk from this place. They're less expensive and the food is good. I will ne taking my business there from now on and encourage others to do the same. It is called Mea Thai and it is also on Court Street, just like this place. Sad how some places have taken advantage of customers ever since the pandemic. This place is a great example of that. Stay away!"

"LOVE this place!!! Very small, yet beautifully cultured.. I had traditional Chicken Fried Rice with Egg rolls ? YUUU-MMMYYY!!! Also, if you go, you MUST try their BOBA! I love the Frozen Taro!!! Of course, the service is always fast and friendly! Although, they do have a drive around, I like to just go in and say Hi! always greeted with a smile! These guys have been here for years , I see them expanding in the future! They are SUPER GOOD!!!"

"We have been here several times, and each time the food is excellent and the atmosphere is peaceful. Nice restaurant with cloth napkins and friendly staff. The place is under new management (and name), however the quality has not gone down. At the time of this review, they have yet to get their liquor license. If you were hoping to get alcohol or sit at the bar, you're temporarily out of luck. For us, this is not a priority."

"We absolutely love this place! Nice people, great service, great taste every time! Only one little thing I'm concerned about is when I order take out, the food was so hot that the Styrofoam started to melt at the bottom which is the reason for the 4 stars Not 5. Not the healtiest, so I had to throw away part of my food that was touching the bottom which was a waste because the food is so good. I hope they could upgrade to a better quality to go box with spme sort of lining or BPA free plastic containers? Otherwise, we're probably just going to have to dine in there instead of ordering take out again."

"We just got done eating our late night delivery. Even at this late order right before closing, the food Quality is IMMACULATE. We have been regulars here for quite some time now and it is truly CRIMINAL that I have yet to give it a review. 5 stars across the board and the various dishes I 've tried have been incredibly tasty. "I was so disappointed with the serving size that they gave me for my Beef Panang curry order. The dish only had like 6 very small cuts of beef and a few sliver slices of red bell pepper. The dish was priced at $12.00 and for almost the same cost I can get a buffet lunch at Cuisine of India just across this establishment. Unfortunately, they don’t have a buffet at the time I went to eat and it was a big mistake going to this place. In fairness, the panang curry sauce was good and very generous in portion size but i didn’t order a bowl of soup. I don’t normally write bad reviews of a place but I hope the owners would reconsider their portion size or at least make it up with other “cheaper” ingredients like mushrooms, etc."

"Wow! Absolutely delicious Thai cuisine. In my experience there’re two types of Thai restaurants: the “comfort style” restaurant that offered generous portions at low cost and the finer restaurant offering smaller, more flavorful portions for a higher cost. MaMa D is definitely the latter. The prices were very high but every dish was really delicious. We got the Tom Kha soup, mango curry, massaman curry, and pad thai. Both curries were wonderfully made, with the creamy coconut milk flavors coming through. The pad Thai wasn’t greasy at all. My only quip is that they don’t provide enough rice with the curry. I get that the curry is the main event, but I would have liked a little more to eat it with. This restaurant has one of the coolest interiors as well. See the pictures for some awesome vibes. 8"

"Sadly, this place is not what it used to be. Service was so slow. The waitress had to look at the menu to confirm what we were ordering. 1 of 4 dinners didnt arrive until much much later than rest; then that Pad Thai wasn't worth the wait. Was it the kitchen or front of the house? Took a long time til 2 of 4 desserts arrived; they explained it took extra time to prep the toddy cake. Almost seemed they didn't know how to prep it. On a Sat night only 3-4 tables were filled."
