"the best of the best! this eating is the best, hands down, no sweat. They don't have to wait for the call that invites them to the next authentic Armenian bbq (if they are happy to be invited to one). they can have it at any time in ani’s caffe. this place has preserved the tradition of the perfect Armenian cuisine. yes, I said perfectly they have mastered this art and they make it available for a great low price. I ordered anis shawarma dinner plate. I asked for a combo, half a chicken and half a bark. it is not on the menu, but they were happy to make the special order for me. this family-run place is in possession and is guided by nice, friendly, really good, really warm and polite people. I'm serious. I bet if you have a flat tire front, they'd be out there in 30 seconds to change the tire. that is who these people are; real, truly wonderful and friendly people. they also make the best real Armenian food they can find anywhere. Armenians are ingenious, they are simple, and they are also the most picky people in the world when it comes to food and therefore their food is the best in the world. They strive not only for, but they achieve perfection when they cook. each seasoned, each ingredient, each recipe, must be only like that or they will not be happy. I was pampered because I learn with some great Armenian friends and eat. these people take very seriously, almost like a religion. they don't be kidding when it comes to eating. they know how to taste the things and if they don't taste perfect, or it's not perfectly cooked, or it's not fresh, intentional! they also taught me, so I know the right deal now and if something is less than perfect, I'm the first to complain. but if I went back to anis now and ordered the same again, and they said how was their meal earlier, it's all we could do to make it better my answer would be that it was perfect and please don't change anything. seriously, it was literally perfect. the hummus was amazing. not too much garlic, and not too much lemon, which unfortunately are two very common mistakes placed on others. the fresh Lebanese Pita bread from Canada was of course excellent as always. the perfectly boiled, fresh and delicious (Armenian style) reispilaf was fluffy and delicious. the fresh, delicious salad, spun with a beautiful, homemade dressur was just right. the fresh grilled vegetables, right at the grill, with their wonderful blister marks to prove that it was the heaven. I know I keep saying the word fresh about and about, but when it is fresh, they know it, they can taste it, and all their foods are fresh and ingenious! the best part of all. huge chunks from the freshest, juicy, most delicious grilled meats supposed to be placed to perfection and top. I just want to write about it. (pardon me as i wipe a little drool from my chin) watertown is known as little armenia because of the number of Armenian people there, as well as the great small Armenian mini brands. you would think that you need not leave watertown to get the best Armenian restaurant, but sadly, that you do. grateful though, they only need to drive 30 seconds over the border to belmont st. in belmont to get it. nowhere in watertown they can eat even near this good and this fresh one. If they never had real Armenian food, they'll do one thing, they'll come here. if they had, but have abandoned, try to find the real deal anywhere beside a real Armenian bbq, they come here. either they will not be disappointed. Oh, my God, it's really the best of the best! a"
